"The most underated RPG on the SNES!"

I remember in 1994 when I first layed eyes on this game I was in awe of its graphics. Just spectacularly unusual. You'll see what I mean when you first see the mayor's building in Juryn. This game was called Lennus in japan and thats what it should have been called here. But, I guess Enix was targeting the Final Fantasy fans at the time and thought the title "Paladin's Quest" would entice them enough to purchase it and give the game a try. This game is by far the most under looked title in Enix's SNES RPG line up. It was so differant that players got fusterated by it and could adapt to its style.I think the end boss alone makes this game worth playing. SaGa Frontier veterans would know why. -Bragging rights- The boss is pretty hard if you don't know what your doing and is one of the reason alot of people don't like this game. I've beaten him a number of times and the last time I did it was quiet easy. All you have to do is never run from a battle( maybe one or two times but never more), have Hawk or Mouth on your party as early as you can get them( or Chen if you want to show off), and PUT ATTACK BACK on yourself! Pretty simple, no? (ok ok I will start the statistic review) Graphics 90% For the SNES they are pretty solid. Strange, weird, maybe but it does the job in making you feel like your in a differant world( which other RPGs seem to fail at). The graphics for the magic are ok. No were near Square quality on SNES but they make great efferts in trying to mimick it( like the spirits spell). The sprites are stiff though, but well drawn out. Story 96% As with games like FF3, FF2, Xenogears, Persona, ect. you can't guess what's going to happen next. The predictability factor is almost nil in otherwords. The ending isn't great but its not bad neither. Zaygos is a well drawn out charactor. As with all the bad guys and some of the good guys too. But there is no charactor develpement for Chenzi or Midia what so ever in this game though. Which is forgivable since they are only 14..

Play control 80% There are no bugs in the game( that I have found) and I am never yelling at the game because it did something I didn't tell it to do. I like the way you can play the game with one hand and just use the arrows to tell the game what you want to do before the battle.

Challenge 99% From Doth the immortal's maze to Kymut's first form this game brings you a nice challenge that wares off with time. I suggest you play the game without a FAQ. The challenge is in the battles. There is only one puzzle you HAVE to figure out during the game. But its not impossible.

Fun Factor 79% Alot of people just get to fusterated. Patience makes a perfect RPGer. Its quiet fun when you get the hang of it. Which shouldn't take long at all. There is alot of fun original things you can do in this game. Like headbutting your enemys.
