"Although you can't stick a fork in it, it's still a real great game"

Megaman Soccer, the first sports game Capcom made. And it has Megaman. I first played this a long time ago, and instantly loved it. I always re-rented and re-rented it, until... BlockBuster started stocking the newer systems and forgot about our good old SNES, Genesis, and NES games. And, just recently, I really got the urge to play again. And I mean a big urge. I had loved the game before, and I still love it today. But it's not complete.

Well, that threw you completely off track, eh? But like I said, it's not done. Capcom didn't finish it. They gave it to toy stores for testing, and they mistook it for the real game, and priced it around $45.00, making the many owners who had finished (somewhat) this game kinda mad. They paid full price for an unfinished game. Well, I would. It's good enough to rival greats like... uh... Fifa? Or maybe some other sports game. I don't know, I mostly play RPGs.

With all that in mind, let's move on to the review, shall we?

Graphics:10/10
A HUGE IMPROVEMENT over the NES games. I can't stress that enough. All the bosses look very nice (just think waaay back when the first Megaman came out, how bad Ice Man looked), and all victory dances make full use of this trait (except for some). Also, special shot effects, like Cut Man's Scissor Ball or Pharoah Man's Sun Ball have the enemy erupt into flames, or be sliced into pieces (although it's the exact same pile of pieces).

Story:??/10
Well, not much of a story here, but it really doesn't effect the game at all.

Mainly, Dr. Wily wants to take over the world through soccer (or football, for the non-americans). Sounds a bit strange? Yep! I can't really give this a score, because it seems like Capcom rushed it a bit. Which I don't like.

Audio:9/10
Very nice audio. Can't really say too much about it, because it's above average, and Elec Man's stage music rocks. Wow, another ''throw you off track'' saying.

Replayability:10/10
Well, it's soccer! Soccer is a game you have to replay many times, each time with a different strategy. Why, playing every mode, every character, every position, everything... might take you 3 cartridges! It's endless, I tell you. Endless.

Buy/Rent/Rom:I say buy
After many days of looking, I found this on eBay. My uncle won it for me, for a reeeeally late b-day present, and after 7-8 years of missing out, I'm back into Megaman Soccer.

Closing:Well, it might not be done, you might not be able to stick a fork in it, some animations might be suspended (check Wood Man's stage), spelling errors (Congartulations!), etc etc etc... but it's a nice game to add to your old-school arsenal.
