"Web-slingin' fun for the family... maybe not."

Based from the Spider-Man comic book, Maximum Carnage brought you through the saga of Spider-Man and Venom taking on Carnage, Venom's offspring... that sounds disgusting.

Anyway, graphics were good for their time, and still okay. It suffers from the common beat-em-up problem though, swapped pallette syndrome. Many of the enemies are repeated with different colours so they get boring quickly. Something that made the game intresting though, was the helpers which you could summon. Many did intresting things that helped during your fight and you looked forward to getting them. The game took on a comic book feel (though not as much as Comix Zone), with it's POWs and such... kinda reminded me of that Adam West Batman show though.

The tunes for this game were composed by Green Jelly, whoever they are. =P They fit the game well, with their MIDI electric guitar and stuff. Other than that? Well they have crappy dying sounds, that help?

The game is a beat-em-up, so it'll take a while to beat. I found it fun, and now that the SNES is dead, you can find it cheap, so that helps a lot. Unfortunatly, this game suffers a lot because it is only one player... a beat-em-up game with only one player is like a sports game without statistics, stupid idea.

A good game to play a few times, rent it if you can, or just borrow off a friend, it's cheaper! ^_^
