"I almost want to give this game a 10 because it's so funny"
One day I was looking at used Super Nintendo games and a friend pointed out Ultimate Fighter, thinking it might be a good fighting game. It cost only $2 so I bought it...
As soon as we turned it on we burst out laughing...
Graphics:
Well, the graphics in this game are it's best point. You can tell it's for SNES and not NES...that's the best thing I can say about it. The backgrounds are so flat that it looks like you're walking in front of back drops. Also, the game skips so many frames that I think each sprite only have around 10 animations(max)...
Sound:
Lemme put it this way...every time you jump, you say ''ooo yea!'' Weapons clashes sound like two forks hitting. The music sounds like they got some poor guy off the street to hum into a microphone...Also, they only have one ''ahhh'' sound for when you beat bad guys, so all the women enemies make man sounds...
Plot: There's a demon and you're some guy named Rick
Gameplay:
This is what makes the game funny. First I'll explain the different modes.
Normal Mode:
This is a side scrolling mode. You play as Rick and walk around doing confusing things...first you're at some temple fighting ninjas and collecting ''Magic Water''(The health item...) Then, during the boss fight you turn into a Power Ranger type guy(Theres no explination for it either). During the ''Power Ranger fight'' you can also switch between characters you collect. The funniest thing is that the game acts like theres a woman you can play as, but they were to lazy to animate her so they say ''she's to injured''...
Anyway, you fight through 5 levels that are so silly and confusing, you may wet your pants. Then at the end, the boss says ''Beware...the...Atrocious 7...'' and dies. Funny thing is...there is no Atrocious 7. Either he was lying or trying to set up a sequal(which thankfully doesn't seem to exist...)
Vs. Mode:
In Vs. Mode you can play as a few different characters like Kung Foo, Boxing, Karate, Wrestling, and ''U.S. Karate'' (Kickboxing). The lame part is, in order to have a fight with a friend, you need to pick and name 8 characters since it's always in a tournament type mode. If you win the tournament, instead of a big ''YOU WIN'' you get a crappily translated ''YOU ARE GREAT''. Also, the option to fall out of the ring is translated as ''Cosmic Saucer''...what were they smoking?
The controls in this mode are even less responsive than normal mode and you can walk through each other...
Animation Mode:
This is one of the stupidest things I've EVER seen. You walk through the level the same as in Normal mode, but at the boss fights it turns into some RPG type battle where your only options are ''Attack,'' ''Dodge,'' and ''use Magic water''(Which you can do anyway by pressing Select). Don't ask me WHY they would make a mode like this or why anyone would want ot play it...
Overall:
If you can get this game without paying over $3 for it, buy it. It's great for a laugh.
