Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters
Review by DjdL13
"Fun Button Smasher"
All the recent fighting games have become complicated with extra modes, combos, button sequences (which sometimes may be odd and hard to perform)and other options. Even though they may look cool and are fun to watch, it's sometimes a break ( and rather a short break ) to play an old classic fighter, such as Tournament Fighter.
In tournament fighter there are 10 selectable characters, which range from the original Turtles ( of course ) and some classic bad guys ( such as Shredder ) and other characters. Also there are 2 extra "hidden" characters. Each character has a super move which can be performed by pushing "X" and "A" at the same time. But the only thing is that your super gauge has to be full ( which is usually a hard task to do. ) Each character has special moves, but this game is more of a button smasher. There isn't any real skill involved in this game but it's funny watching and playing.
The graphics are pretty good for a fighting game ( let's just say it's better than some I've seen. ) There are 10 "stages" which range from a pirate ship to a bar fitting each one of the characters backround. The music is not that great, but being that is SNES and from a long time ago it's pretty decent. The game also has 4 different modes, Tournament, VS Battle, Story Battle, and Watch ( which is one of the worst features of all fighting games. ) Overall it's a break from the recent fighting games, but you'll probably get easily bored.
