WWF Royal Rumble
Review by Gruel
"The first WWF console game to feature a Royal Rumble mode"
Graphics: 8: Wrestlers were big and nicely detailed and were easy to tell apart. The game had nice pinups of each wrestler on the wrestler select screen. Royal Rumble mode had 6 characters in the ring at once with no slowdown at all.
Sound: 8: The game had entrance music for all 12 wrestlers in the game. The in-ring sound effects were good with all the "ugh" a wrestler made when he got hit and the funny sounds when a wrestler was getting choked.
Gameplay: 8: Gameplay was pretty simple, there was a grapple meter that you did your moves off of. The more you increased the difficulty the harder, the more you had to mash the buttons to do a move(I reccomend a Turbo button controller). You can brawl outside the ring and even whack your opponent with a chair. There were a few different gameplay modes: Singles, Singles Championship, Tag Team, Tag Team Championship, Triple Tag Team, and Royal Rumble. There were also 12 wrestlers to choose from: Randy Savage, Ric Flair, Yokozuna, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Lex Luger, Tatanka, Ted Dibiase, Mr. Perfect, and Razor Ramon. All wrestlers could do there patented finishing moves too.
Replay Value: 7: There was a 2-player mode where you can bash it out in a singles, tag team, or triple tag team contest against each other, or team up to win the tag belts or team up and go against each other in the 12-man Royal Rumble.
Overall: 8: The game was lots of fun especially with the Royal Rumble mode. You can probably pick this game up in a used game bin. If you have an SNES and don't have WWF RAW(which is almost exactly the same as this game) make sure to pick up this game.
