"To this day, this is still the best Batman game created."

This my friends, is the best Batman game created. To this day, no other Batman game has had the gameplay down so tight as Konami has with this game. The tools, the look, the feel, it's all there. Now, to the rest of this review.

Story: N/A

Think of this game as a bunch of mini-stories. A story for each level if you will. For instance:

Level 1: Joker has taken over an amusement park, and you have to go through the traps to get to him.
Level 2: Poison Ivy has threatened the human world once again with mutated plants
Level 3: The Penguin has broken into a museum to grab some of the priceless artwork.
Level 4: Catwoman is on the prowl
Level 5: Two-Face is on the run and you have to chase him in the Batmobile
Level 6: The Scarecrow has crashed a university party and used fear gas on the people to make them attack you.
Level 7: You must Barbara and James Gordon from the Riddler's Maze, and you must then face his chessboard, all in virtual reality.
Level 8: You gotta run the gauntlet and defeat all the villains who want Batman dead. I won't ruin any surprises here...

Graphics: 9/10

The Graphics are well done for a SNES game. You can easily recognize the characters, and surprisingly enough, Batman's cape is very well done. The backgrounds are well detailed, and nothing looks real cheap in the game. Great job from Konami.

Sound: 10/10

The music suits this game perfectly. The theme from the T.V. show is even in this. Each level has music that sets a perfect mood for it. When you reach the boss, the music turns to a faster pace for the action. It all has such a great feel that it makes you feel like you are the Batman. I think that was the general idea.

Controls: 10/10

Great responsive controls. Batman reacts the moment you touch that button. They're simple, and they work great. Attack, Jump, Change Weapons, use weapons, block. Doesn't get much simpler. It's also perfectly customizable for your enjoyment.

Gameplay: 10/10

Large Levels, Great boss fights. The game gets somewhat more difficult as you reach the end of the game. Right around Scarecrow's level is the level that you start taking a beating if you're not careful...

Lasting Appeal: 8/10

3 difficulty levels to go through. Not much to go for after that, seeing as there's no secrets that I know of and no way to play as Robin. Beat it on hard if you can and if you have lots of spare time on your hands. There's no password system on hard.

This is a great game, and the best Batman game made as well. It's well worth the money.
