"Yet another Tetris game. How many are there?"

Hey look, another Tetris game! I wonder how many there are? Oh well, enough, I guess. In Tetris 2, one of the first variations of Tetris, I think, you pilot the blocks coming down from the sky (do these games ever have storylines?), but instead of making a really long line, you make a four block line of the same color to make them disappear. But, then there’s yet another twist to the game, as all the colors of blocks (original ones laying around) are dependant upon the key block, the key block is one that shines, and if it’s destroyed, all of it’s colors are too. In order to advance to another level, you must destroy all the three key blocks. That’s simple enough. But then, we have puzzle mode. I haven’t gotten very far in it, its pretty tough, but anyway, here’s the rules; you get a limited number of preset blocks, that you must use to destroy all the (preset) blocks in the puzzle mode.

Graphics: 6/10
This game’s graphics are nothing spectacular, but do any Tetris games have ground-breaking graphics? I think not. The graphics for a Tetris game need be clear and crisp, nothing else, and this game’s graphics fulfill both requirements. So why need fancy graphics, when 6/10 is enough?

Sound: 4/10
Music is definitely not this game’s strong point, as you will hear as you listen, not done well at all. But, what can you do? The sound effects stink, too. But is music ever a game’s major part? It doesn’t effect me though, because I nearly never leave the sound on. With this game, neither should you.

Storyline: N/A
...doesn’t exist in this game. But then, do any Tetris games have storylines? Well, Tetris on the PS2, but that plot stinks anyways. There’s no point in giving ratings for storylines for games without them. If you want a storyline, go play Final Fantasy 7. Or 6. Or 10. Any of them, really.

Replay: 8/10
Replay value has always been Tetris’s strong point, always has, always will. I’ll never tire of this game, and assuming you like obscene challenges, you won’t either. Still, I’ve liked it if they included the original Tetris too, but, big deal.

Difficulty: 8/10
The normal mode of this game isn’t to tough, maybe a 5, but the puzzle mode... that’s just hell. Sure, the first few levels are easy enough, but from level 16 and on... just terrible. After a while though, it gets alright once you get enough skill.

Overall: 8/10
Between the average graphics, intolerable music and sound, and lack of a storyline... I’d say you’d forgotten the replay value and difficulty that requires actual skill instead of other games. I’d say its worth about $10 if you can find it.

Pros:
Insane replay
Who doesn’t like Tetris?

Cons:
None really... BUY
