"Scooby-dooby-doo where are you? Hopefully out of this crappy game."

Many years ago, in a galaxy far, far, away, I played the Genesis version of this game (fun, yet difficult) and figured I would try this one. I expected the same kind of adventure/puzzle solving gameplay. What I got, was a glitchy, obnoxious, platformer that would make a grown man cry with frustration.

GRAPHICS 7/10
They get the job done. Nothing special here. The sprites are very basic, and the backgrounds seem to show up in different rooms. The reason it got 7/10 is that they are too uninspired.

SOUND 6/10
Not much sound, actually. About all you get are some shouts of terror and some plop noises when you jump. There just isn't much sound that really sticks out. It is not enjoyable, but not irritating either.

MUSIC 8/10
Probably the best thing in this game. A lot of it comes from the series, so it is kind of an edgy, nervous music.

CONTROL 5/10
I can't decide on this. I guess they work quickly, but Shaggy and Scooby are not the most...easy to control creatures.

GAMEPLAY 1/10
This is a platforming game that DOES not fit platforming style at all. It is difficult to time jumps, and you will fall. A LOT. The most basic jumps will have you going several times without success, a big no-no if you ask me. The non-platforming aspect of it is just as bad, if not worse. You play as Shaggy and Scooby who are sent off on their own to solve the mystery while the gang lounges around. You collect clues and deliver them to Velma, who gives you points. Trap pieces you may find, go to Fred. And Daphne, gives you a Scooby Snack to replenish your ''Courage Meter.'' But wait, that's not all folks! In mystery number 2, Fred goes ballistic at one point, and starts doing Velma's job. And it IS a glitch, trust me.

DIFFICULTY 9/10
I have yet to get past the second level, and I consider myself a slightly-above average player. This game is NOT for little kids. They would get way too frustrated. If you can beat it, I will shake your hand eagerly.

REPLAY VALUE 2/10
You will want to do the first mystery twice, maybe. Other than that, zippo.

GOOD POINTS
-Scooby Doo
-Nothing

BAD POINTS
-Difficult
-No fun
-Glitchy
-Just about everything else

OVERALL 2/10
This game will not please, this game will not give enjoyment. I should have given it a 1/10, but I just can't completely deny Scooby. Darn that loveable dog...
