Saturday Night Slam Masters
Review by Kerek
"Greatest 2D Wrestling Game......"
So much can be said about Saturday Night Slam Masters. This game was such a great game for the SNES and I recently began replaying it and wondering to myself how this great game could be upgraded. Needless to say, this game rocks and you can pick it up at a used game store or a pawn shop for under ten dollars. Its worth it, hell if it was still 50 dollars, Id still buy it.

Graphics: 10/10
The graphics to SNSM where awesome. They still are for a 2D game. This and WrestleFest had great graphics for wrestling games. They really put the WWF SNES games to shame. The character sprites are highly detailed and you can tell a lot of time was spent on them.
Sound: 9/10
The sound is great! Each wrestler features their own entrance music and the in game tracks are similar to a Final Fight game. Perfect music. I really like it, suits the mood and everything.
Gameplay: 8/10
Each wrestler in the game features about 5 moves you can perform. In these movesets the moves are all different for each wrestler, from bulldogs to gorilla presses, I dont think a wrestler will repeat another wrestlers moveset. Its quite great for its time.
The grapple system is a little confusing and they should have implemented the L and R buttons for better gameplay but its good enough. Considering each wrestler is fitted with their own finisher and ''personalized'' moveset, Id say they did a great job.
Replay: 8/10
This game always keeps you coming back to play again. It really does. I wanted to play and beat the game with every character and I did. I teamed up with every combination of wrestlers to win the tag titles. I did it all and I still came back just to whoop Jumbos ass. I really like the ability to add weapons to the ring from ringside to kick stuff up and I didnt figure that out until I played the game for a long time.
Overall: 9/10
For what SNES was, this game was one of my favourites. So maybe I seem a little partial to this game, but it really is a great game and you shouldnt pass up the chance to play it if you never have. Its really fun and with 2 players, you will be set for hours of fun.
