"SD Gundam Anyone??"

This game was released on the Super Famicom in Japan but was also re released on Playstation as well. The games story is based on the Gundam series. I dont see why they didnt call this game Super SD Gundam Robot Wars 3 because it is basically a turn based gundam game with Super Deformed Gundams shown in the battle screen.

Gameplay: 10/10
This is what makes this game great. It is a strategic type game similiar to Shining Force or Der Langrisser. The battles take place in space and all of the normal stuff is there, Attack, Move, Defend etc. You control a group of gundams, some of them are no-names but you also get to control plenty of the main characters from gundam, the only one i know is Amuro but either way.

Graphics: 7/10
The battle graphics are really great with little pictures of each of the battling units. If you are playing as a gundam you see this wierd SD version. Its pretty funny to see the little SD gundams fighting normal enemy units. The map screen is very bad the sprites are undetailed and lack definition, and there is no way to tell exactly who is who because many of the units have the same basic icon. I wish they would have at least numbered them.

Sound Music: 6/10
The music is great with Panning sound effects, stereo switching its pretty cool. But the sound effects during battle sound less like firing missiles and more like tearing paper, there is also the basic sword effect and all the other stuff, all in all the sound effects are pretty standard. The music is great though and that helps.

Story: 10/10: This is just a game that bases the entire story on the MSG tv series. All of the characters from the original are there, Amuro, Char, and all the rest. The dialogue is really good and youll understand whats going on even without knowing a lot about the show. It is instantly recognizable as gundam, the story segments are really good because the character portraits change to reflect mood and also are very high in detail.

Overall 7/10:
This game is a really great example of a good strategy game. But the SD gundams might throw some people off. A definite must play for any gundam fan or strategy fan.I just dont see why they didnt put Gundam in the name, I didnt even know this game had anything to do with gundam until i first played it.
