Mortal Kombat II

"A great fighter, plain and simple."

This game I think is a really sweet game.

GAMEPLAY 9

Talk about control! this game has fast and smooth controls. The conbos can be difficult, but that's because they're hard not because the controls screw you up. You are a guy, and basically, you're fighting another guy. You can pick from 12 characters that all move well according to how large or athletic they are. You'll see that Liu Kang moves much faster than some characters.

GRAPHICS 9

The graphics on this game look nice. The dead pool stage looks the realest, and the blood looks fascinating. The graphics are very detailed. For a 2d fighter, not bad graphics.

SOUND 9

The sound on this game is way above what I expected it to be. Shao kahn announces the round, when you can finish an opponent, and who wins. You can hear many sounds of battle, like punches hitting their marks and screams of agony when a character is hit. Also, the moves sound right. Reptile's acid spit, for instance, sounds like a clump of hissing acid, and Sub-zero's ice blast sounds cool, like a high pitched noise that just seems to fit. It's hard to describe it in words except that, the sounds simply fit with what you see on the screen. Also the background music is good. It's kind of like rock with some keyboards and orchestra instruments mixed in. sometimes they're fast, but on a dark pit where no one is around, the player gets a feel of isolation, and the slow quiet music fits the setting nicely.

DIFFICULTY 7

Play the whole game before you laugh at me. The first few guys on the climb to shao Kahn are very easy, but when you get up to Shang Tsung, hold on for a wild fight. most of the good characters in the game like sub-zero and Liu Kang are found close to the top. Shang Tsung, Kintaro, and Shao Kahn round out the top three. Shang Tsung is an evil sorceror that is working for Kahn. Kintaro is a huge 4-armed beast that can jump on you and throw fire. Shao kahn, as youknow, is the emperor of Outworld and is trying to take over the Earth Realm. These guys are hard. Especially kintaro, and Kahn will cause a good deal of trouble for you as well.

REPLAY VALUE 7

Great for playing with friends. The multiplayer action is just great. Also, the fatalities are fun to watch. Baraka's "Let me help you up," and rayden's Lightning Uppercut are fvery cool to watch, so get the guide with all the finishers in it.

RENT/BUY

Buy it. This game is very good and is a great fighter. I think if they keep Mortal kombat going like this, mortal kombat could be a legend!
