"Somebody set up us the bomb."

What can you say about Operation Logic Bomb? Well, you could say it has a weird name... Which it does. As near as I can tell, it doesn't have much to do with logic, or bombings, but meh...

Weird name aside, the game is great fun. Operation Logic Bomb is pretty much a standard action game. You walk around and blow stuff up. As boring as that sounds, once you get in game, you are sure to enjoy yourself.

You start with just 2 weapons, and no sub-weapons (as I call them), but as you venture farther into the game, you pick up heavier firepower and sub-weapons to help you survive longer...

Gameplay: Both the layout and the response of the controls are very nice, which is a good thing, considering how fast and furious the action gets at times. The fights can get a little one-sided if you don't think before rushing into the next area, but that adds more to the game than it detracts.

Rating: 10

Story: There's a story? Tell me if you find it... From what I understand, you are some kind of super-warrior sent in to stop an Alien/Robot invasion of a research lab... If I could find my game manual, I'd check and see if they had thrown together something in there. Really, you wont miss the story when you start playing, as its fun even without knowing exactly who you are fighting.

Rating: 2

Graphics: If you consider the game's age, the graphics are top notch. Everythhing is crisp, some of the weapon animations are nice, and there are a fairly wide array of enemies to shoot/blow up/set on fire. You wont run into the problem most games of this type have, where the enemies are just the same guys over and over with a palette swap. Also, the level designs are nice, and the electronic/machine visuals are well done.

Rating: 9

Sound: Eh... The sound isn't grand... The music isn't bad, for an SNES game, and you really don't notice it in the heat of battle. As for the weapon sound effects, they are pretty...well, crappy. They aren't all that annoying, but they don't really sound much like any weapon I've ever heard fired. Overall, the sound gets the job done, but it could be better...

Rating: 6

Replayability: This one is a matter of opinion. Since you aren't playing the game to see what happens in the story (if you can say it has a story, its a very cookie-cutter one), the replay on this game could be indefinite. Operation Logic Bomb is fun, and its long enough that you wont memorize the locations of enemies the first time through (though you almost have to, if you want to beat some areas). If you like the game, you'll want to replay it even after beating it. If you don't like the game, you probably wont sit through it once...

Final Recommendation: Operation Logic Bomb is a great game. If you like Action games then you'll love this game. Worth the $2 it'll cost you at a yard sale, or FuncoLand. =P
