"Worst Action Hero"
Much like the movie, awful. How this became a game on multiplatforms (soon to be reviewing the NES version) is unknown after how bad the movie bombed.
Storyline 1/10
Some unlikable kid is obsessed with Arnold. Has Arnold posters and pictures all over his wall. Dreams of teaming up with Arnold, and dreams of Arnold rewriting history in the past present and future. He wants Arnold to rule the world, he wants Arnold to run for president, he wants Arnold to melt the butter on his biscuits. Anyway one day he cuts school and gets a magic ticket that sucks him inside a crappy movie in which he has to help Arnold in. Since the kid is such a wuss, you just play as Arnold.
Graphics 2/10
Terrible, your character looks nothing like Arnold, the backgrounds are constantly repetitive as well as having to fight the same 1 or 2 enemies over and over with no real variety. They range from.. guy with knife... guy with bat ... then a boss
Controls 1/10
So you have punch and kick .. and then jump and no combination of the two. Since kick has a unnecessary animation which causes a 1 second delay in the move it makes the the move useless. While you are trying to kick the enemies are beating you with bats. So you are only left with punching and ocassionally jumping.
Audio 2/10
Just annoying medicore music that loops endlessly throughout stages... MAKE IT STOP
Game Play 1/10
What I mentioned earlier about the controls.. this can be a problem when two enemies are on the screen. While you are trying to punch someone, another enemy with a bat can come behind you and hit you. You will get knocked around alot in this game (I only beat the first stage once). Sometimes you will get power ups which will refill your life by 1/8th and won't help you too much. The game play is just terrible, slow, sluggish and unplayable.
Overall 1/10
I have no idea why someone would want to play this game, or why anyone would even like the movie. If you for some reason liked the movie, I guess you could like the game, but i'd be worried if someone actually did like the movie.
Don't bother renting nor buying. Like all movie to games conversions before 1996 (and thats streching it) they're pitiful, and if you gotta have your Arnold try the True Lies game instead. Atleast that had medicore fun.
Note : This review was shorter, but since they require me to write atleast 400 words on how abysmal this game is, I had to go more indepth.
