Strike Gunner: S.T.G.
Review by The OriginaI Metroid
"S.T.G.-Couldn't have been better!"
Well, I must say that I love to play this game. It has tons of interesting weapons, and the multiplayer is just soooo fun! Now that you know what I think, lets get down to the facts.
++Graphics++
Score=7.5
This game came out only 7 months after the SNES was released, so for its time, the graphics were pretty good. I've seen better on the SNES, but these are nothing to frown upon at all. The bosses are exceptionally cool looking too.
++Controls++
Score=9
No problems here whatsoever. You plane handles beautifully, and its really easy to learn. You basically pick it up, and within 5 seconds of playing, you're flying like a pro.
++Sound++
Score=6
The music on this game is average. It won't have you turning off the speakers because the neighbors thought you were strangling a cat, but it won't have you blow your speakers because you had it on full volume either. In general, the music is good, just a little repetetive. I normally keep it on.
++Gameplay++
Score=9
Well, this is were the game really shines. This game is very fun, with tons of different levels ranging from the desert, to the ocean, to space, infinity, and beyond (Just had a Buzz Lightyear Moment). Not only is there a wide selection of levels, but your special weapons are well thought out, and key to survival of the game. In 1 level, the easiest way to beat it may be with the shield, or the plasma blaster, or the super Ion Cannon. Selecting your weapon is a very strategic part of the game.
++Difficulty++
Score=6
Well, this is the games main downfall in my opinion. As you start the game is pretty easy, but when you get to the 5th level and beyond, the level of difficulty isn't very friendly. It gets to the point were on the last 2 or 3 levels, it is almost necessary to have another player with you.
++Replay Value++
Score=8.7
This game is gonna have you glued to your Super Nintendo for hours upon hours of controller bashing fighter piloting. You can play it over and over and over again, and still not get tired of it. I have played it for at least 60 hours since i bought it. And its not a game that you beat, then put on the shelf next to your Pong for Atari game. Its gonna be in the SNES cartridge all the time.
++Overall++
Score=9
I gave it a 9, because its got good graphics, a nice playlist for sound, and excellent replay value. Trust me you will want to buy this game!
++Rent or Buy++
Definitely BUY!
