"How can dinosaurs be so boring?"

I don't understand how anyone could enjoy this game. Lemme get started.

STORY
Pretty much the same as the movie. I don't know anyone who hasn't seen the movie, but just in case, here it is. It is not exactly like the movie, but similar enough. Biotechnical advances bring back dinosaurs. The dinosaurs are on Isla Nublar, an island near Central America. You play as Alan Grant, a well known paleontologist. You are invited to see the dinosaurs on the island, so off you go. The dinosaurs are controlled by a computer, as to keep everyone else safe. But, one computer has malfunctioned! All the security systems are down, and now the dinosaurs are free to walk the island. So, there you are, stranded on an island full of dangerous carnivores and herbivores alike. Your mission? To get the hell out.

CONTROLS
The control pad moves your character in any of the eight directions you press. The start button will pause or start the game again. The X button allows you to pick up an object. The A button makes you fire the first weapon you have. The Y button fires the second weapon. The B button is for jumping. Inside buildings, press up to move forward, down to move backward, or right and left to rotate right and left. You can also use the Super NES Mouse. Amazing, isn't it?

SOUND
Dolby Surround Sound! ^_^ One good quality about this game. If you have this game, go get the Dolby Surround. Hurry! Anyway, you can toggle the music on and off if you want. The music is okay, the dinosaur noises are good.

GAMEPLAY
You begin with five lives. I don't know how you could lose them, as the baddies are too easy to evade. Your objectives are to pick up cards and enter new areas of buildings. Stop dinosaurs, bring back more power to the computers. With only 6 objectives, this shouldn't be very hard. You have six weapons: the Cattle Prod, Shotgun, Missile Launcher, Tranquilizer Gun, Gas Grenade Launcher, and the Bola. You also need to pick up any dinosaur eggs you find, which are easy to spot and easy to get to. Get access cards too. There will be other things lying around, such as the Extra Life, First Aid Kit, Batteries, Nerve Gas Bomb, and Food. There is no way to save your game. The motion sensors will bring you back to them if you lose a life, but that's it. Each time you turn off the game, your work is gone. Now the games moves slowly, and you can't see your character's face. His hat covers it, so he does not have much life given to him. The jumping looks plain strange. There are seven dinosaurs you may encounter, all of which are too easy to avoid or destroy. What most players need is some sort of map, so they can know where to go. Many people get stuck somewhere wandering aimlessly around in circles. This used to happen to me, and it got fucking annoying. But, with practice, you'll find it out.

GRAPHICS
Outside buildings, it is not exactly great, but inside buildings, it's crap. Graphics were definitely not a strong point for this game.

RENT OR BUY?
Neither. Don't rent it, don't buy it. The second Jurassic Park game is much better. Cool movie, terrible game. Hope my review helped.
