"If you're a Mega Man fan, a can't miss- the rest of you, too!"
Yes, yes... Mega Man 7 isn't bad or awful or any of those things. Then again, I never found a Mega Man game I was completely disappointed with. This one is like the rest- kill boss, get weapon, whoopdeedo. But it's GOOD. Just read the review, OK? ONTO THE REVIEW!!! (It's my tagline, ya know ^_^)
GRAPHICS: Very cartoony, but very true to the Mega Man genre. The sprites are easy to see. The backgrounds are creative and nice, along with all the enemies and Mega Man himself. Quite humorous. The explosions are the only thing that nab me: they're circles of red. Yes, that's it. Kill a guy, and a circle pops up. Eradicated! The weapons are creative looking, and the framerate is very smooth. Nicely done by Capcom. (9/10)
STORY: Same old, same old. At the end of Mega Man 6, Dr. Wily was tossed in jail thanks to the Blue Bomber. Ironically, Dr. Wily had planned his own demise, and had built robots to get him out of jail previous to his capture. Within six months, he is on the loose, and our Mega Hero is out to save the day, faster than you can say ''Blue Spandex Suit''. Yes, it's not completely original, but Mega Man is good enough without a greart story. (9/10)
GAMEPLAY/CONTROL: Yes, combined into one category. It saves me typing time and too many words. The controls have always been great throughout the series, so nothing to wrong about a thing. It is possible to gain a function in this game to switch between weapons using the L/R buttons. Gameplay is overused, but still successful: You go through four stages, killing the robot masters and gaining their weapons, and using it against their allies. Then you fight four new boss. Get their crap, and Wily leaves for his Fortress. The bosses aren't very challenging, but the final boss has to be the most annoying Mega Man boss ever! You'll win only if you fight him, like, 1,000,000,000 times. The game is worth the potential you put into it, though. Great. (10/10)
SOUND/MUSIC: Now, these are supposed to be combined! Basic Capcom material sums up Mega Man 7. The music matches the settings, and sounds match their actions as well. Not too much too add here. You'll like it, and many tunes are memorable. (10/10)
OTHER STUFF:
-Players: 1 (2, if you find the secret Street Fighter mode... heh heh heh...)
-Replay Value: 6. You can't replay this game too much, because their isn't a lot of hidden studff besides Rush Plates.
-Rent or Buy: Either. Play it forever or for a while- it doesn't take too long to beat.
-Is Dr. Light a Cross-Dresser: Now, how did THIS category get here? Huh!
Goody. A good game. Mega Man is cool. He wears spandex. BLUE spandex. Yay. Oh... I ran out of clever punchlines for your pleasure. D'oh!
OVERALL: 9/10
