Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble

"This game still prooves that even a 3rd sequel can still be fun!"

Before I start this review I have to say this game is probably the best donkey kong game in the series. It could possibly be the best platformer ever made.

Graphics
The graphics in this game is superb. The environment actually looks like real life. The wood looks like real wood. The water looks alot like real water. There is even currents in the water that pushes you back sometimes. The enemy models have also improved by alot and they move more realistically too.

Gameplay
The gameplay in this game is the best out of all of the DKC series. The buddy system is even better than the 2nd DKC game. In this one you can roll your buddy, open up new entrances using your buddy, collect hard to reach items using your buddy, you can even toss your buddy at enemies.

The bosses have improved and are even harder! There is one when you need to fight this machine that has all sorts of gadgets and gizmos which are deadly. All of the bosses are challenging and have their moments!

The levels are waaaaay better than the 2nd DKC2 they have so much life and they are so unique than the previous 2 games. In this one you climb up and down waterfalls. Or you can go underwater and there are actually bonuses and secrets! Plus the enemies are way cooler underwater. Plus there is even hidden levels and bosses! In some levels you have to climb up trees or mountains and avoid obstacles on the way! Sometimes you have to move up a level really fast or else you will die!

This game has so many secrets and unlockables in the game it is unbelievable! There are tons of bonus and banana coins. Plus there are items you can get that do special things! You can also collect these things called banana birds which take alot of skill to get.

I like how the game has RPG elements to it. Like you go on boats and hovercrafts to get to new worlds and locations. And you buy stuff from shops.

This game has some new animals in it. One which is really bad while the others are totally cool. The one animal that is really bad is ellie the elephant. It is afraid of rats! it always runs away from them and you can only get rid of them in the dark by jumping on them. Or you can throw a barrel or keg at it.

Sound
This game has excellent sound just like all of the previous titles in the series. The animals sound like animals the enemy\'s and bosses sound like they are supposed to.

The music in this game is very good and you might even find yourself humming to a tune that you heard off of the game.

Controls
The controls are very simple and easy to learn. If you are new to the series then you might have some problems with the controls. You will definetly have a problem with the buddy system at first.

To buy or to rent?

Well you can\'t rent the game anymore because it is very old and it got discontinued a long time ago. But you can still get it off of ebay or at a used game store. But I recommend that you buy this game right away. Or get a good trade on it.
