Review by Mortortex
"This game is loads of fun."
Don’t listen to the slander this game gets. Most people will play this game, and give it no more thought. Well, their just missing out on a great game for Snes. This game has good game-play, okay sound, and super graphics. If you like simple strait forward games, you should give this game a try.
Graphics: 9/10
This game has some of the best Snes graphics I’ve seen for Snes. The backgrounds are to die for, luscious mountains, beautiful cities, and dune beaches. The foregrounds not as good but does the job. Characters and food are done very nicely, for what you would expect. The white chef is a bit cartoony, but you’ll be looking mostly at the food, and where they are hiding so you probably wont care. So that’s why this gets a 9.
Sound: 7/10
The sound is a little lacking; it’s just too simple to get any higher then 7. No complicated scores or anything, think of unimaginative jingles. I’m not saying there boring, but they do get on my nerves. Sound effects are nothing more then “squeak” and “plump” sounds, ya real interesting.
Game-play: 7/10
This game has some unique game-play. You must go around and catch all the food that escaped from your fridge. You will go through many stages but for spoiler sake ill only give you one: Switzerland (first stage). The game loses points because in some cases it’s too hard. Since there’s a time limit that counts down extremely fast, not to mention that some stages have a lot of food to catch while at the same time watching out for numerous enemies. Don’t think the food will be caught with out a fight, oh no! They run, even off cliffs. If you didn’t catch this, the foods alive. This category is good, but not great.
Story: 2/10
The only story I can salvage is the black chef (you will know who he is in the first 5 minutes of game play) opens your fridge and releases your food and transports them to different countries, how?
That’s the entire story I can think of.
Replay Ability: 9/10
This game is addictive, if you liked it. If you didn’t then never speak of it again. For the people that enjoy the game it’s hours of fun. Getting back to addictiveness, yes I found myself constantly playing, to beat some of the later stages. Once you learn the controls and the objectives of the game, this game is loads of fun.
Rent or buy
This is a definite buy for people of all ages. It’s fun, challenging, and an overall sturdy game.
Overall: 8/10
While this game is not really exciting, it has some aspects that you can only find in this game. Jumping up and down on food is fun; the running potatoes always make me laugh. The only thing I ask is: “give this game a chance.”
