"One of the best Megaman Platform games."
Well...Megaman is no more on the NES but it have its first appearance on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is a lot better than ALL his previous appearances...believe me, maybe Capcom hasn't been very detailed for the levels, but they're still very fun! You'll love to see Megaman jumps, fire at enemies while it climb a ladder, dodge straight and diagonal shots and things like that!
GRAPHICS: Well, not the best, but still good for the SNES...maybe the levels weren't much detailed ... I prefer the NES ones...
Enemies are well made...you can recognize some from the NES series like the Sniper Joe and the famous mettools.
Effects of weapons are nice, especially the special ones: the Thunder Bolt is one of the best effects.
Megaman still looks like he's in a cartoon (I mean, don't expect a big, scary robot...) but he's quite fun, though. He opens his mouth when he's jumping and he's taking damage.
There will be the water like the older Megaman games, and believe me, it's VERY detailed!
Overall, Capcom has made a fairly good work, for his first attempt of making a Megaman game on the SNES. Well done. 8/10
MUSICS: Well, great! Robot Master's themes are still the bests you can hear in a game (excluding RPGs)...you hear a noise every time you jump and shot a plasma shot (the noise will be louder if you charge your shot)...basically, all is well done. The music of when having got a new weapon is wonderful (a mix of techno and something else)!
For a platform game, I can say that musics are appropriated, another good work. 8/10
STORYLINE: Well...it is pretty the same as other games: Dr. Wily has finally be captured by Megaman, but 4 of his Robot Masters free him...fight 8 Robot Masters and some minibosses (including the most charismatic [and stupid] character I've ever seen) and get to Wily himself...not that original, but still good...after all, Capcom is Capcom, we could expect better, but that is. 8/10
GAMEPLAY: THAT'S the reason for Megaman VII have a 10 from me! Megaman VII is a platform-lateral game...well, one of the best ever made! You can choose the level (there are 8 different levels plus 1 intermediate level and the final ones) and you'll be able to control megaman: you can move left-right with the + pad; then you can jump with the B button and fire with the Y button. When you defeat a Robot Master, you'll obtain his Special Weapon (which you can choose by pressing the Start button during the game). When you're about to choosing a level, you can always go to Auto (a big aid-robot) station (seems like a BIG Eddie)...he can give you things in exchange of Bolts you collect throughout the levels. Enemies are different and fun. All is well made. There are ENHANCEMENTS for Megaman...you must find them! Great work, Capcom. 10/10
DIFFICULTY: FINALLY A MEGAMAN GAME WHERE YOU CAN EASILY DEFEAT THE RMs AND WILY! ! Don't worry, it's not like other Megaman games where all is pain...here, thus if you don't know bosses it'll be hard, life is MUCH easier! 10/10
REPLAY VALUE: A lot, only because the amusement! Again, if you have finished the game without all the enhancements, you'll like to go into the depth of the levels with all the stuff in order to find them all...and believe me, it's VERY challenging! 10/10
OVERALL: What? You don't know Megaman? If you're a beginner this episode will help you getting the hangle...after that you can try Megaman X or the older NES ones...a must. If you still don't have tried it...just go somewhere and get it!
