Terranigma

Review by Slipknotted

"This game is awesome....easily one of the best on the Snes."

Ok first I'll start off by saying, This game was never released in the USA at all. If you are lucky, you mind find a pal copy somewhere but I seriously doubt it...

This title is the third in the Soulblazer series, with the first being Soulblazer, Second being Illusion of Time/Gaia, and the third being Terranigma.

Story 10
This game is about a young man named Ark, who accidently opens a box, making everything freeze around him, where he has to then free 5 special towers, and resurrect the world as we know it. The overworld in the game has a lot of familiar places, such as Japan, England, Australia, South Africa, America and so forth.

Graphics 9.5
I do believe this is one of the games on the Snes that took its graphics as high as possible, as there is quite a lot of detail in this game. It is very well drawn, and all the different effects in the game look awesome. Magic looks great, and the actual character designs look superb.

Sound 9
The sound in this game is very well done, with new music each time you enter a new place. I personally adore the music while fighting the boss at Zue, and is one of my favorites from any game. The sounds effects in this game are pretty much standard, with the usually sounds from killing enemies to getting hurt.

Gameplay 10+
This would be where the game get interesting, not only is this game long as hell, but it will keep you interested all the way through, with the storyline being quite excellent in itself. There are an amount of plot twists, heaps of people to meet up with, lots of bosses with one near impossible one, I won't say which one..bit its not the last one. The control in this game is very well done as well, with different maneuvres being able to be performed by Ark.

Replayability 10
The reason it gets the high score for this, is because there is so much to do, after you resurrect the humans, all these towns are made, and depending on what you do, they will grow larger and larger, there are a very large amount of weapons (Ark uses spears) and a large amount of armor. There is plenty to do all throughout this game, and then you will play it again to try perfect everything you missed out on the first time.
