Disney's The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book was a game created after as you probably already know The Movie: The Jungle Book. This game was initially created for the SNES currently after the movie was released.

The bad thing about most of the Disney games are that you cant really save your file so you can reload it later on. Though throughout the game there are save points where if you die, you will be revived at those designated areas. However if you lose your lives and your continues you will sad fully have to start at the beginning.

Storyline

Now the game is basically a remake of the movie but it does have its differences. Starting off in the beginning you assume the role of Mowgli the favorite little boy who never had parents and became friends with Balloo. Your adventure is basically a book which many different levels bonus and normal ones. The setting of the game is in India. Mowgli is basically a boy who was raised by wolves and as he got older became fonder of the jungle. He began to make friends with the animals such as Balloo and Bargera. It tells of how Mowgli was captured by Shere Khan who is a Tiger who hates humans. It explains how Shere Khan in the end attempts to kill Mowgli because of his hatred. That’s just a brief summary of what is included in this great adventure.

The Graphics

Now considering that this game was for SNES, I’ve found that this game was made very well and the graphics are intensifying. Its basically a side scrolling game. In the game you are pretty free to do things such as swinging vines, the original jump technique, and riding birds. Though there are many other things that you can do. I particularly like this game because in a way it really brings out the movie like experience.

Sound Effects/Music

The sounds are basically similar to that you would hear in the jungle. I found that the music was particularly good and well developed. They did have that bit of Jungly feeling to it.

Overall Rating

I found this game to be quite fun and very addictive, it will make you want to play it more as you get more into it. I felt after beating the game as if it was not enough, so its replay ability level is quite high. I would strongly recommend that you should rent it and if not BUY it. However it is a little short, it is well worth your time. You should really try to beat this game twice because it will really be a good experience. Anyways overall a excellent game that provides breathtaking graphics for the SNES console, with remarkable sound effects and good replay ability level.
