Disney's Aladdin
Review by Megaman Trigger 7
"Best Disney game for the SNES. Ever."
Disney's Aladdin
One of the greatest Disney movies of all time comes to the SNES. Most games that spawn from movies aren't very good. But Disney's Aladdin for the SNES makes that saying put to rest. It may look dumb, but try it out. You will not be disappointed. If you loved the movie, you'll love the game. Its better than the NES and Genesis version too.
Story
Its basically like the movie. Aladdin's a street rat that steals food to live and cause's a little mischief. I'm pretty sure everyone has seen the movie Aladdin and know how it goes. There are picture images of parts of the movie after some levels so you can follow what's happening. But there are some parts of the game which don't follow the story and extra stuff just to add more levels.
Graphics
Pretty much the same as the other SNES games. Aladdin and the monkey Abu look exactly like the movie. Its colorful and nice backgrounds and sprites are quite nice. It makes you feel all warm inside. Even for a 2D game, it looks remarkable.
Sound
I never realized how catchy the music is. I still ,even after more than 8 years, remember the tune to the first level. You'll probably remark some music from the movie in here. My favorite is the music in the Genie's level, you'll never have a friend like me.
Gameplay
First off, the controls for this game are very simple. Jump, throw apples, run, and glide. That's basically what you'll probably use most of the time. You will use those maneuvers in almost every level. What you basically do almost the whole game is jump on enemies and try reach the end of the level while collecting emeralds and apples. In this game you have hearts to display your health. Get hit and they disappear. Lose all your hearts and you'll lose a life. There are some secrets in some levels. I'll let you find those out on your own. Most of the levels you play through you will recognize from the movie. There's the streets of Agrabah, the cave of wonders, the genies level and some others ones that you might recognize, and some you won't. There's also a password system so you can start at any level. There are pictures of the main characters of the game in the password system and you just have to chose the correct 4 to continue. And I can't forget to mention the Genie Wheel. In some levels that's a golden beetle in a chest. When you open the chest he flies away. Catch and you get to visit the special Genie Wheel bonus game where you can get some extra lives, extra continues or even some more hearts.
Overall
Overall I find this game to be the best Disney game for the SNES. Anyone can play this and enjoy it. Practically anyone can beat this game too. It'll probably take 3 hours to beat it. I highly recommend this game. One of the best platformers I have ever played. Find this game as soon as you can and enjoy!
