"Let's Enter "Into A Whole New World!!!""

Introduction

Based on the successful Disney movie plot, Capcom released Aladdin in 1993. The game was quite a success. The story sets in the mystery city of Agrabah. Enchantment awaits you. The rarest and finest merchandise, the magical lamp contains a very powerful genie living inside it.

Aladdin is a poor guy and all he has with him is a pet monkey, Abu with him. One day, Aladdin and Abu met an old men. The old man wanted Aladdin to enter into a cave to bring out a lamp. Aladdin did not know that the lamp contained a genie living inside it at first. While exploring the cave, he and Abu stumbles across the magical carpet and eventually discovers the genie living inside the cave. Who is this genie and what power does this genie have? And, will Aladdin be together with the Princess Jasmine at the end? And, who is that evil Jafar? And then, the story begins...... I suppose everyone knows something about the plot so I guess I won't talk much about it. Back to the main topic.

Gameplay

Aladdin is a 2-D side scroller platformer game. Basically, the moves that he can perform are throwing apples, stomping on his enemies and sometimes hovering in the air too. Along the way, Aladdin has to collect power-ups like crystals, apples too. He is also expected to be able to swing himself with the help of a protruding pole to get to the next area too. That's all you need to know for how the game is played like.

Graphics

Compared to other games, Aladdin is graphically above the average. Don't forget that the game was made in 1993. Every stage is generally quite well designed and animated with a decent amount of details. For example, in the first stage, there will be a man who will be looking out of the window to see what is going on at the streets and if you accidentally stomped on his head, he will get mad and start scolding you. Pretty cool, right?

Music And Sound

The sound effects are generally quite okay. Not really much that I can say about it. The music is definitely good. Every tune do fit the atmosphere. Perhaps, the most outstanding piece of tune is the '' A Whole New World'' in the bonus stage- This is the part when Aladdin and the Princess Jasmine sit on the magical carpet and fly off to collect all the good stuffs. [Yeah, there's quite a lot of things to collect in this bonus stage.] Well, I really do love this part- it's quite romantic and touching actually.

Conclusion

However, this game is not totally flawless. In my opinion, the game is too easy and there are too little levels to keep you occupied. You should be able to complete the entire game in less than two hours if you are good. As a result, the gameplay is very short and replay value isn't that fulfilling. Once you have completed the game, I guess it's very unlikely that you will play it over again. Perhaps, the only worthwhile for replay is to input the password to the bonus stage, and then listen to the tune, ''A Whole New World'' again. Other than that, I don't think I can think of any other good reasons.

Overall, if you like the Disney movie, and perhaps the music too, you may consider buying it. In my opinion, it's not a bad game, except that the game is far too short. If a few more levels are designed, the game will be much better and more challenging.
