"I agree with the other Gamefaqers; this game is horrible!"
Introduction
Last Action Hero is based on the movie, called well, Last Action Hero featuring some macho dude that you'll probably all know. I can proudly delcare that this game is another horrible, I mean, bad, I mean, UNPLAYABLE translation from movie to video games. This game is so flagrant that you should play some other game; this review just to warn you how awful this game is.
This game features some dude based on the movie that runs around in the game and beats up bad guys without much weapons; he only uses his fists and feet. There you go, this sums up the game in less then a sentence.
Ok, ok, you're asking me why did I play this game then. Well, back then this dude who sells illegal stuff knocked in my front door and ask me if I wanted a SNES game (this was like 8 years ago, heh) and I got this game for 10 dollars.
Game Play
You're basically a average everyday Joe who walks around in the street fighting your mediocre average thugs who are weilding iron pipes and other things in order to harm you. Well, you sure don't know alot of martial arts moves or anything else other then doing your sucker punch and doing some wimpy kicks.
How let me elaberate how the game play of this game is utterly unplayable and has the durability of game play for the first five minutes before you want to go outside and play in the rain.
Sometimes the opponent of the game is weilding some blunt weapon and you can't do anything about it because, well, because the game designer won't let you to. Instead you have to try to jump over that druggie and if your legs hit him, then you lose your health. Yup. This caused me not to even be able to past the first five minutes of the game because I was losing health so badly and end up dying in the game. No matter how hard I tried, the opponents kept coming and I felt defenceless against them.
As you can see, that basically sums up the game. No objective, no climbing or talking or getting new weapons in this game or nothing. All you do is walk around and keep fighting - even the game fighting system is too horrible.
Graphics
Graphics for this game is bland and uninteresting looking that makes you wonder if the game designer made any effort into making this a playable game; again, I'm trying not to be biase because this is a movie translation game with horrible game play, but the graphics for this game is just as bad as the gae play itself.
At the first level you get to fight in the streets of some place that is in America, with your cars and abandon buildings and such things.
The character design, the main character you control wears a coat and some jeans - he looks like your average Joe, like in the movie - just horrible like the game.
Conclusion
Let me be the third person to say in the Gamefaqs reviews that this is indeed a horrible translation from movie to game and that you shouldn't even waste your time or energy playing this game because you end up with nothing fun to play with - you'll just end up disappointed and bored out of your mind. Go outside and play in the rain.
