Breath of Fire II

"Better than the first!!! A really good game."

Capcom's 2nd RPG sequel on the SNES is a good game with a couple things missing,which doesn't make this RPG many people their favorite.If you've played Breath of Fire 1,
than you already know that this one will be good.With good graphics,great gameplay,and good music Breath of Fire 2 is one of the best RPG's on the SNES.Here's why.....

GRAPHICS:(8/10)These aren't bad graphics,but you know they could have made it a little bit better.The way they make time shift on the map is cool and the backgrounds are all very nicely detailed.Some parts in some towns seem scratchy
or left out.Although overall I think the graphics are very good.They are somewhat the same as BOF1,but just a little bit better.

GAMEPLAY:(8/10)Good gameplay.Walk around from town to town and collect items and fight.A true RPG is what BOF2 is.The only thing wrong with the gameplay is going back and forth constantly for little reasons and can easily bore you and make you to stop playing it.Other than that the dungeons are long and fun.The fights are fun,but another annoyance to me is that it takes a long time in the beginning to the middle of the game for your main character to gain levels.
Why did Capcom do this?Maybe to keep the players into the game,but for all I know it is kind of annoying.The story is good.You are a boy named Ryu with powers not yet known of and it is up to you to destroy a wizard and save the world.You progress through his life finding(weird)new people to go with you on your quest and it takes off from there.The main reason why I gave it an 8 was because the going back and forth,but if you get past all that it is very fun.

CONTROL:(8/10)If you've played Breath of Fire 1 than these controls will be very easy for you counting that they are the same.If you have not played Breath of Fire 1 don't worry,because they aren't hard to learn.They are easy controls.

MUSIC/SOUND:(9/10)The music was very good and had a lot of catchy tunes.Though Simafort had a very annoying theme,most towns don't and the world map music is very catchy and cool.
There was nothing wrong with the Sound FX and overall the sound was very well done.

OVERALL:(8/10)I didn't bother putting a REPLAY category,
because most SNES RPG's are not very fun to play again,but if you want to play it again.Go for it and knock yourself out.The score is an 8,which is a very good RPG and should be in every gamers home.
