"Ewww ... an earth worm. ;-D"
Earth Worm Jim
Introduction
I can proudly say that Earth Worm Jim is a fun and unique game. And yes, just because Jim is an super earth worm doesn't mean you have to demean him in any way shape or form, because Mr. Jim here is an earth worm that is in a space suit ... with a BIG LASER GUN. Not only Jim is a bad ass earth worm, but he also rides a space ship that vaguely resembles a bike. Yeah.
So you're thinking that playing as a earth worm is boring, eh? Well, it's not, I tell yeh, when you're shooting through bad guys and jump around and blasting monsters and blasting some other entities that exist in the game that is the bane of your existence (in the game, anyways)
Some say an earth worm isn't worthly of receving accolades because of its low status in the animal hierarchy but we all know that worms are esstential to soil growth and everything.
Acclaims took worms seriously thus they engender this game called ''Earth Worm Jim'' and that this is excellent. No other worm is like Jim because he has a gun, as I have mentioned earlier.
So go on and read about a game that is vastly underrated.
Game Play
It isn't often that you get to control an earth worm with a space suit on and that this game is no exception; you move around and shoot bad guys.
Of course, because you're required to move the worm precise that the control must be tight; and it is good control set up which allows you to dodge and shoot, just like in the Mario series. The basic control set up is jumping and shooting and crawling and jumping while shooting; this is paramount of importance as you dodge the laser of your adversities and return the fire.
Because this game is an action game it sometimes can get frustating because you have to complete these obtactles in the game such as climbing which can be challenging. But sometimes this game can get really hard until the point of comtemplating to quit playing this game all together; I personally they the game developers made this game TOO difficult.
Most of the game revolves around jumping from place to place and killing the enemies that are in this game. But it is more then that because extreme effort was put into this game and original thinking because most of the time you'll won't be battling in some mundane building interior that is so ubitquitious in many games; no, rather you fight underway colony or in space or in some place the vaguely resembles the term we called 'underworld'.
Graphics
The graphics for this game is excellent. I adore the cartoonist style of the game. The texture makes this game looks cartoonist and the pixel of the game is mighty fine. Perhaps this game isn't the apex of graphical revolution for the 16-bit console but it does serve the gamers right. Lots of things are detailed and that you can see the artists in the game put quite some effort and their endeavor some get some lauds.
Music and Sound Track
The most prominent sound you'll ever hear in this game is the bang, bang, bang and zip, zip , zip of the gun that your protaganist fires away at the enemies. There is much velocity and power behind the sound of the fire and that it isn't some cheap zinc zinc sound unlike some other games. There are also some voices in the game but I vaguely remember.
The music in the game is good, mostly some tecnho music and other mixed sound track in the game. I most don't stress on the sound tracks of the game because it isn't of the ulmost importance ... but you won't get bored of the music any time soon now because it isn't repetiive or boring as one may think.
Conclusion
As we come to the end we can draw the conclusion that this is one kick butt worm that kick butt and can return gun fire while chewing bubble gum. While this isn't a revolutionary game in any means but it still serves as an intertainment tool for the gamers and provides an escapism medium ...
