"I'm not quite sure what to say about this game..."

Introduction:

I came across this game on five years ago at a local video game pawn shop. This was back in the day before I couldn't afford to get an N64, still relying on my SNES. The blue bionic figure on the cover art for this game grabbed my attention. Withou hesitation, I traded in a few of my old games got this one instead. I've regretted it.

Gameplay:

This is a fighting game in its crudest form. The playable characters are all machines with no detail whatsoever. they look like big blocks walking and jumping on the screen. The controls are slow and unresponsive. For someone like me, who's played Street Fighter II Turbo for years, this game is infuriatingly slow. Maybe it's a just a matter of patience...

Story:

This is reminiscent of futuristic B-movies that we've come to know and love. A company called Electrocorp attempted to streamline effeciency by creating the Leader Project. It was an attempt to perfect multitasking with a super intelligent robot, the Supervisor Droid, to oversee all aspects of the company's operations. Unfortunately, a virus got into the system and turned the Supervisor Droid into a ruthless killer out for mankind's blood. It's got legions of worker robots to do its bidding. So, what's a company to do with a maniac super robot with a nasty virus? No, not Norton anti-virus or Spyware: Search and Destroy! It's up to the company's top secret cyborg, half human, half machine, to set things right!

Graphics/Sound:

The graphics are somehwat decent. Certainly not as much detail as some of its felow fighting games of the time, but what the heck. Sound effects are reptitive. There are slight crunching noises as metal meets metal during the fight, but there are no actual character voices here. The onlty redeeming quality about this game is the music. This game has a decent techno beat to its fighting, but there are only five tracks...

Replayability:

This game has only five matches to it. Five repetitive, slow, easy matches that take no real effort to beat. That is, unless if the slow movement and bad resopnse time doesn't get you knocked out...This game got old by the third round.

Final Recommendation:

Unless you're into collecting the games of old systems, don't even bother. If you see this in a pawn shop, please don't follow my example. Those games that you trade in for this are worth more.
