Dragon Ball Z Super Gokuden: Kakusei-Hen

Review by DanMc

"DragonballZ: Gokuden 2, A Great DBZ Game."

I keep seeing reviews about this game on websites that say its very bad... However it is not, so im writing my own review to put out my point.

First off the game starts off at a DragonballZ Tournament... Where goku fights Tien and Piccolo, The first thing you will notice is the characters talk way to much, which is one of the games only downsides, at the start the fighting is pretty simple, you can do specials, attacks, blocks and a ki blast attack, the cool thing about the fights is, its actually kind of innovative, you have a limited ammount of time to attack, you can ither just attack, which will make the game kind of dull, or you can go for strategy, wait for your opponents attack to appear then quickly choose an attack that ither beats that or counters it, its very cool...

In this game you play as Goku and gohan, it changes as story progresses, however, I prefer goku in this game, he has the best attacks.

This game is one of the many that show true power of the characters... as goku you will learn the kaioken attack, once you've powered up as much as you can, you can tap the power up buttons and your power will go up, you can do kaioken attack up to 20x, and you'll even get a little red glow, you can even see how much power you have, and after kaioken is done, you can watch it go up.

The game goes from the Tournament all the way to the freiza saga, you even get the super-saiyan ability near the end of the game, as you probably already noticed from screenshots, the Super-saiyan ability is also another great way to show the power of the characters.

in closing...

Gameplay: 5\5 - The gameplay is very innovative, showing true power and great attack methods, a first of this type of system, it fits DBZ Perfectly.

Replay Value - 3\5 It looses alot of replay value because of the constantly chit-chat of the story line, but, the gameplay itself has great replay value.

Story - 2\5: More points lost do to the constant story, this games about 80 Percent story 20 percent fighting, I skipped most of the story, Because I just had to play more of the fighting, if you've seen DBZ you've seen the story, few parts will be intresting dialog.

Overall: 8\10: The story goes on too long, but you can just skip that somehow and fight more, so you should like this game if your into a good dbz rpg.
