"Not bad for cheap graphics"

NHL Stanley Cup was my first ever hockey game, and thank god it was good! I remember it was a little hard at first, that is what made me put it down, but I remember about 4 or 5 summers ago I took it out, and won the Stanley Cup. This game is what made my love for hockey games begin. This is where I built my skill for hockey games as well, once you learn controls for it, you will play better at some other hockey games as well.

Graphics – 6/10
The graphics could have been a lot better, but hey, you can’t complain when you have a game as good as this, really. You can pick out where to shoot pretty good, like it isn’t to challenging to score, and the hitting effect is good, I laughed every time I hit someone, I swear. Once you get into the game the graphics don’t bother you so much.

Sounds – 8/10
Yeah, the sounds are great, I really like the sounds of the players, they like grunt or something when they are checking, and it’s really funny. But the sounds really do go good with the graphics. They have good timing, making it great when you are playing the game.

Gameplay – 7/10
The gameplay is pretty good, can’t complain, I mean the game is good. I find it easier to hit the post then to actually get it in the back to the mesh. The players are sometimes hard to check, no real worries though, it’s more of a challenge, and you’ve got to make sure you are in a good enough position to hit them. It’s a hockey game, what more can you say, hockey rules.

Replay – 7/10
You have so many teams you can be, go ahead, and win the Stanley Cup a few times. You know you want to. But it is hockey, it’s a sport game, sport games are meant to be replayed, so it is just as good as playing it the first time, I think. I mean you do get tired of playing it, but that comes for every video game, so this should last you a bit.

Overall, this is good for you hockey fans out there. Play against a bud; see who the better hockey player is. Play as your favourite hockey team; show everyone that your team is the best. So try this game, you shan’t be disappointed. Which team will you bring to the finals?
