"Radical Dreamers kicks ass."
Wow I just wrote a review in 1 minute here is part of it. I?ve been compelled to type a review for Radical Dreamers for a LONG time, but have not managed to do so. Anyways, Radical Dreamers is a game that most of you won?t be able to play unless you use an emulator. It was released on the Satellaview thingy for the SNES. Radical Dreamers was supposed to be a direct sequel to the much played and loved game known as Chrono Trigger. Be aware there maybe some spoilers in this review.
Gameplay-8/10
-While it may seem very simplistic it is also very addicting. There is the normal "dodge Kick Punch Jab" etc. it provides a bit of strategy. There is always a better way to kill an enemy each time through the game to make it a little more difficult. Plus there is plenty of scenarios, which means that every scenario has its own strategy. It can be extremely hard or extremely easy if you know what you are doing. This game also supplies random battles which can get you at the edge of your seat wondering "Do I have enough heath?". It has a unique health system that you have to figure out your health by reading clues such as " few cuts and bruises here and there but other wise I'm ok" which means that you are at the 90% mark. There is also an invisible gauge to show Serge's relationship between him and Kid in which you will also have to read clues. Reading should be classified in this game as "Gameplay".

-It's not really a visual masterpiece that its older brother Chrono Trigger is, because this is a text-based adventure. The game has a couple of animations that move, (The Ending Movies, The Tower Trap, Walking up stairs, etc.) but mainly its just one image in a background with TONS of text. But since this is an adventure based on text (therefore Text-Adventure) I must give this a 7/10.
Sound/Music-9/10
-I really liked the musical score in this game. It could send shivers down your back, or it could put you in the mood to fight. The ending tracks really were amazing. I personally loved them.
Story-10/10
-Lets start of with the characters of the game. The four main characters are Serge, Kid, Magil and Lynx. Although the first time through will only show a little bit of their personalities, it becomes clear that there kinda is a love story involved in here between Serge and Kid. I'm going to move on so I don't start with character spoilers. The story is an excellent example of what Square can really do. Continuing on with the Chrono Series, its story is viewed as a side story. You can only play different endings if you play through the regular game. There are 7 endings in all and they provide a somewhat lengthy adventure your first time through. There are also many scenarios that make it challenging as well as fun. Overall I can just say it's got more than one storyline and they are all great.
Fun-10/10
-This game is really fun and easy to play. I say if you have a chance to play it go right ahead. I would have to put this on the REALLY Fun games list. I mean it?s not every day that everyone would like a text-adventure, mainly because nowadays its all about graphics. Bah.
