I really can't believe that there aren't tournaments or books for this game. It is soooooo realistic and challenging. I've seen lots of other tennis games before, but none of them have all the features that this one has. Even the newer ones show the court at such an angle that you really can't tell whether the ball is up there or down here. In other words, you can't judge longitude with most tennis games, and that really sucks because you can't really play or compete.

With this game though, the court is positioned so that you can see both the players and the lines and the balls very clearly. The gameplay is excellent because, like with most sports games, you can play it over and over and have a different type of game, ball rallies, scores, shotmaking, etc. each time you play, so there's always something new. I've played it for years and have enjoyed it a lot.

The sound effects are crisp and realistic too, just like in real tennis. This game is definitely close to playing real tennis, except of course you can hit the ball a lot harder and do a lot better volleys than in real life! You can do topspin shots, slice shots, drop shots, lobs, overhead smashes, hard volleys, soft volleys, drop volleys, etc. There are also a variety of players to choose from each with their own strengths/weakenesses. For example, there are pure serve and volley players, strong baseline players, Andre Agassi like players who hit hard on all sides, and all around players. So it's always challenging to choose a player to work with and try to master his strengths. For instance, you can work on being a pure serve and volleyer by choosing a player with that strength and building your skill on it! It is soooo fun! You can also choose court surfaces as well. And it's not too hard too because you can choose the level of the computer opponent and there are so many different skills that you can improve and perfect that it's constantly challenging!

Finally, you can play on the pro tennis tour where you compete in tournaments all around the world and it saves where you are. In these world tournaments, you can compete for points to get the number one ranking and all. There are the 4 grand slams plus most of the other tournaments on the real pro tour. You can also play singles or doubles too!

For all that, this game is definitely a must if you're a tennis fan in any way! The good thing is that this game is really cheap now, you can get it at www.funcoland.com for just a few dollars! That's like a total steal for years of gameplay enjoyment and challenge!
