Mario Strikers Charged Football. The second Strikers game, the first online Wii
game in Europe, and the most violent, "grown-up" Mario game ever (Note that the
game "only" has a 7+/E10+ rating, so don't worry). That should pretty much sum
up what this is (Err, plus the fact that it's football without rules. But you
should know that - if not, why the heck are you here?).
Anyway, this is my first FAQ/Walkthrough uploaded to the Internet - and about
my millionth created. You see, I tend to not finish any FAQs I start writing.
But. As you can see, that's not the case... in this... case. Eh. Or something.
So, excuse me for writing such a lousy intro. Now go what you are here for -
to find information and/or tips about this game.
- Fredk.

Mario Strikers Charged (with a Football subtitle in Europe and Australia) was
released on 25th May in Europe, and shortly after in Australia. The USA got the
game two months later, the 30th July.
The game is the sequel to Mario Smash Football (known as Super Mario Strikers
in the States), which was a very basic and limited - but fun! - game.
The game is rated E10+ by ESRB for Mild Cartoon Violence, and 7+ by PEGI for
Violence.
Both Mario Strikers/Football games are developed by the Canadian team Next
Level Games, who had experience with football (soccer) games from the game SEGA
Soccer Slam. Otherwise, though, they were fairly unnoticed.
The game has received mostly positive scores from reviews, mostly ranging from
a score of 70-90%.
Mario Strikers Charged (Football) is the first "proper" online game for Wii,
and the very first online game for Wii in Europe and Australia.
Aaand there you have it. Some basic info. That's all.

________
7th May/Yes, I started writing before I got the game. That's because I weas
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ bored (Waiting for the game to come out :P), and I wanted to get it up
ver. on the Internet quickly. So, no real info today, obviously, just made
0.0.1 the "skeleton" or whatever you would call it.
_________
22nd May/More waiting causes more updating. I've added lots of info from the
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ official webiste - The guide looks almost complete already!
ver.
0.0.2
_________
9th June/Had a long break here due to, well, MSCF, but I'm back and writin'. It
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ will be complete in a few days (And by days, I mean working days, and
ver. when it comes to working with this FAQ, you can never know).
0.0.3
__________
10th June/Submitted, but not finished. I'll probably work a lot more the next
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ day(s). I'd love to get tips from you (See section [cont]) on how to
ver. improve my FAQ.
0.1.1
__________
12th June/Made some slight improvements here and there, finished the Strikers
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ ABC mode (I also corrected its name, which was previously 101, now
ver. ABC). Just so you know, I'm open for suggestions and contributions
0.1.2 until the Final version is done.
__________
13th June/Wrote 33.333333% of the Striker Challenges. Had quite a lazy day, so
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ that and some polishing was all I did today.
ver.
0.1.3
__________
21st June/Oops! I seem to be taking too many breaks here. All I've done today
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ is to add introductions and stats to the characters, and moved the
ver. lines apart for easier reading (It's not like I have limited space...
0.1.4 or do I...? Anyway, sorry for the laziness. I promise to continue the
challenges section soon.
By the way, have you found any spelling errors? If you spot many,
tell me. I'll fix them in the last update.
__________
22nd June/Just a tiny update. I've given two other websites permission to host
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ the FAQ/Walktrhough, so I had to update. Other than that, nothing
ver. new.
0.1.5
__________
27th June/Sorry for being so slow... But slow is better than nothing! I've
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ almost finished the Striker Challenges section, only missing Diddy
ver. and Yoshi's challenges, because - honestly - those two are
0.1.6 IMPOSSIBLE! They're the only thing in the entire Single Player game
that I simply cannot finish. But - for your sake - I will continue
trying! Oh, and I added a new section; General Tactics. It's empty
right now, but it's gonna contain general tactics such as jumping the
goalie, cancelling a shot with a pass, etc.
__________
28th June/Wow, I'm proud of myself! Two updates in two days! This time I got a
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ good bunch of the General Tactics [gent] section finished. But I only
ver. wrote down what I could remember on the top of my head... I'll
0.1.7 probably organise it better later, and snoop around on the GameFAQs
forums to see if I can find anything I missed. If you know something,
don't hestitate to e-mail me [cont]!
Oh, and I added a ginormous spoiler-disclaimer at the top. You know,
just in case. If you haven't read it, do it now. Seriously.
__________
29th June/Users needtogetalife and uzamaki_henry have given me some strategies
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ on how to beat Yoshi's Striker Challenge. Thanks a lot! They've been
ver. added to the section, and no I don't need any more of those...
0.1.8 *hint* Diddy's still has no strategy though *hint*.
__________
29th June/Being done with what I can think of for the General Tactics section,
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ and not being able to finish Diddy's challenge, I went over to
ver. something different - the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection section, which I
0.1.9 just now noticed that I had barely started on. So now it's finished!
Oh, and I added a little tip that I got from an unkown person (The
tip being that playmakers can pass during jumps).
_________
1st July/Cheat Code Central (cheatcc.com) now has my permission to host this
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ FAQ. Yes, I know I said that no more sites could host this, but I had
ver. given this site permission before I said that - I just forgot about
0.1.10 it, that's all. Other than that, no updates yet. Maybe later.
_________
1st July/Wow! I hadn't noticed, but my FAQ is finished soon! Woohoo! I've
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ written both the Cheats section and the Other Modes section, so I've
ver. only got some tiny things left. In fact, all I have to do now is to
0.1.11 finish the Road to the Striker Cup section, clear Yoshi and Diddy's
challenges so that I can add the info I need to get from them, and do
some final polishing.
__________
15th July/Wow, I had almost forgotten. Or, well, I hadn't really, but I just...
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ couldn't get my lazy arse over to the Wii, put in MSCF and turn it
ver. on. Oh well, now I DID IT! I finally completed those three, easy
1.0 steps, played MSCF for an hour or so while occasionally writing some
FAQ stuff (here), and looky - the Striker Cup section is DONE! What?
Small? Well, I know, but I can't make a detailed walkthrough when the
opposing teams are random. Sorry.
Also, I did promise an FAQ-reader a team-combination section. I
thought about it, then came to the conclusion that any, and I mean
ANY team is good if you know what you're doing with the characters
you're using. Even a team of Peach and three Boos can destroy a team
full of Hammer-spammers 10-0 - it's a matter of practice. So, I
apologise for leaving out your promised section, but I do find it
pointless.
One last thing: Noticed that this is version 1.0? IT IS COMPLETE!!
Woo. Woo, I say. That's nice. I'm gonna leave my e-mail address here
until early September this year - after that, I will make a FINAL
version, removing my e-mail address, not taking suggestions or
questions anymore. Any other info you'll have to find elsewhere after
that happens, so make sure to bombard me with any questions,
suggestions and tips NOW.
__________
15th July/Back already! I just added some handy big chunks-o'-lines to seperate
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ four parts of the FAQ/Walkthrough from eachother. Don't ask why,
ver. because I really have no idea. I'm also back to report that due to
1.1 sleepiness, the Striker Cup update will need some more work later on.
___________
9th August/Oh, the FAQ. Right. Honestly, I'd forgotten. I'm sorry. But I've
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ received numerous e-mails about Diddy's challenge (and the fact that
ver. "instant shots/passes" as I called them are actually called one
1.2 timers and touch passes, respectively. I'm not sure if it's right,
but it sound much better than my versions), so I've done the rest of
the FAQ today. I planned on doing a spelling check, but seeing as
there is a TON of text here (When I take a look at it, I can see
that I've overdone it with the History-section), you'll just have to
do with a couple of errors.
So, I guess this is the very last update! Feel free to e-mail me
about anything that has to do with this FAQ; But remember, if you
want to give me a tip that I can add here, do it before I decide to
wrap it up for good!
____________
10th August/I just remembered that I've forgot about MegaStrikes. Wow. All I
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ had written about them was a quick mention in the Game Controls
ver. section (Below), so I added them to the top of the General Tactics
1.3 [gent] section. Hey, did you know that the meter size varies? Not
a lot of people know that, appearantly!
Oh, and I added a Game Info [ginf] section. Why? Well...For fun?
...So, don't expect more updates now. Yes, I've said it before. And
I'm saying it again.
_______________
23rd September/This is the final update. I mean, completely final. Just posting
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ this to tell you that I have now decided to never update this
ver. again; I'm just gonna let it live its own life of the web. Err,
Final that sounded way too weird, I know. But anyway, I decided that I
still will answer any questions from you.
GOOD-BYE!
- Fredk.

This section contains some tactics that you should know. At least the easy
ones. If you master all of them, you're really good at this game.
MegaStrikes
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
MegaStrikes are arguably the most important moves in the game. Each captain can
pull off a MegaStrike, simply by holding B until a meter pops up. Press B once
to stop the needle in a coloured area to determine the ball number (from four
to six, if you somehow miss you get three balls), then as the needle moves
back, stop it in the coloured area to determine the ball speed (stop it in the
green for moderately quick balls, or in the orange for really quick balls. If
you miss, the balls will be slow as snail...balls).
NOTE: The different captain classes have their own MegaStrike meters. The
balanced captains get a fairly good size for both meters. The offensive and
power captains get huge coloured areas for ball numbers (So it's easy to get
six), however you'll have a lot of trouble nailing the tiny speed meter. It's
vice versa for the defensive and playmaker captains, as they'll have a hard
time getting a lot of balls, but the chance of pulling off a superfast
MegaStrike is very big.
Stopping MegaStrikes
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
As the 3-6 balls travel towards the goal, it's Kritter's job to stop them. All
you, as Kritter, have to do, is point at them as they appear on-screen, then
press A to destroy them. Sounds easy? Well, a perfectly fast MegaStrike is
definitely not to be underestimated, because you get under a second to save
each ball. Keep practicing!
Lob Passing
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
This is very important. It's actually up there in the game controls, but there
are so many people who don't seem to get it no matter what. So here's how you
do it. Hold Z, and pass (by pressing A). It really is that simple.
Intercepting passes
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Easy peasy! Slide tackle onto the ball as it's on its way to the receiver -
job done!
Intercepting lob passes
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
This one's a quite advanced technique. Got an opponent who's constantly lobbing
the ball? Don't worry. See that circle that appears when the ball is lobbed?
That's obviously where it will land. You'll want to run over there and position
yourself in the circle before the opponent gets there. Then, when the ball
comes close, press A to pass it - right out of their hans! B works too, if you
feel safer just shooting it away. Be warned, though, that if you try to
intercept with a pass, you may by mistake switch players instead. It's only a
matter of practice, if you've got a willing friend, why don't you try with him
or her? (That actually goes for all of these tactics)
One timers/touch passes
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
According to readers, one timers and touch passes are the correct names. This
is when a player shoots or passes the ball on the instant he/she receives it.
To do this, you must first pass. It doesn't matter how you pass, low or high.
Then, when the ball is on it's way, press A or B (depending on whether you want
to pass or shoot) and the receiver will do it as quickly as they can. This
really helps for quick scoring and passing. You can do a one timer/touch pass
combined with lobbing too - just hold Z when you press A or B as the ball is on
its way to the receiver.
Slo-mo shots
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
If you manage to charge the ball to white, then doing an "instant shot" as
described above, you'll get a dramatic slow-motion effect. If it actually does
anything I don't know - but that's how you do it!
Fake shot to pass
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Err... yeah. I'm _that_ good at making up names. What I mean with this is that
you can charge the ball by holding B, seemingly to shoot, but then intercept
your own move by passing the ball in the middle of the charge. This will
quickly get the ball white and is a great way to score. You know, once I
actually went through this process of charging, passing and shooting AFTER the
time of a match was out - and I scored! _That's_ how quick and effective this
is. Of course, people may start to see your pattern after a while...
Jumping the goalie
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
This can be performed with the playmakers, Peach, Diddy and Toad. Yes, Boo is
a playmaker too, but he does not jump. Toad seems to be the most frequently
used jumper, for some reason, even though there seems to be no problems with
Peach and Diddy. This move is performed with the characters' deke, in other
words by pressing the D-pad. To do it, you have to get close to Kritter. When
he tries to attack you, jump over him and shoot (Or, if you have the time and
you want to annoy somebody - just run into the goal!). This is a very popular
tactic, and it requires practice to do correctly.
Alternately, you can jump over him, then in the middle of the jump pass to
somebody else who will then shoot while Kritter is too far away, due to him
attacking the playmaker that jumped.
Teleporting into the goal
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
This one's pretty easy, if you can find the right time! It can be used by the
defensive Daisy, Waluigi and Dry Bones. The lenght of their teleporting moves
(which are dekes - still performed by pressing the D-pad) depends on the power
on the ball - if it's purple, it goes maybe one metre, and if it's white, it
goes around... well, I's say 5-6. So, obviously, you should charge the ball
before doing this. Once that's done, pass to a defensive character and use your
deke. If you're at an ok angle (Straight forward is the best - the more to the
sides you move, the higher the risk of missing gets), you'll disappear and come
back right in the middle of the goal! Be warned, though, because if you are to
close and have very much power on the ball, you may end up in the electric
fence above the goal.
Easy teleporting trick
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
As if teleporting wasn't easy as pie already, here's a trick which will have
Mr. Poor Defense crying. Got Waluigi, Daisy or Dry Bones next to the goal, but
with little charge on the ball? Do not fear! Stand in front of Kritter (not
inside his "box") and start charging the ball as if charging up a shot, but
then deke (Make sure to tap the direction on the D-Pad that is towards the
goal, because when standing still, your deke will go in the direction that you
press)! This is surprisingly quick and almost always works! Great for the
'Bones fans.
Boo's goalie trick
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Boo seems kind of useless with his terrible Skillshot and his deke that needs
to recharge. But this deke can be useful. As Boo, you probably can't go through
the goalie then get to run into the goal (Boo does teleport, but his teleport
is always really short), but if you time it right, you can get through
Kritter's body. Then, before he manages you hit you, SHOOT! You better just tap
B like a maniac once you've deked, and it may work.
Counter-attackinging harmful dekes
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Harmful dekes, which the offensive characters Wario, Bowser Jr. and Hammer Bros.
and power characters Bowser, DK, Petey, Birdo and Monty Mole can do, are no bad
thing at all. They're very useful, and are probably the best about those
characters. But some people abuse this by constantly going back and forth,
knocking people away, then finish it off with some nasty move (this is usually
seen with Hammer Bros., who can even stun opponents, and finish it all off with
a Skillshot), and it's simply not fun if your opponent only does this to win.
But then again, what's more fun than beating somebody who is constantly
repeating this over and over? Nothing, I tell you, maybe except a barrel of
monkeys.
Anyway, countering this is really really simple. When a "spammer", as they say,
is happily deking around, get a hard-hitting character (Power, defensive or
even balanced characters are ideal!) over there and just stand around. Remember
to dodge whenever the character gets close. Now, you have to opinions: Just run
around nearby and wait until he gives up and tries something else, or hit him
just as he lands, but before he gets to do it again. It's really effective and
doesn't actually require much effort.
Cowardly keeper-trick
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
If you're a coward, this tactic is great! When you've got the ball, run over to
Kritter, and just stand around, as close to his body as possible. Somebody will
naturally come and try to take the ball back. However - Kritter is right there
and will knock them out and take the ball if they even try. Then pass the ball
to another player and repeat the process until the opposition finds a way to
lure you. At least it will buy you some time - most likely lots of it!
UPDATED: Also, having a offensive or power character stand there means even
better chances at winning time; with their offensive dekes, they can literally
stand there for the rest of the match!

When putting together a team, you have to choose one captain, three sidekicks
and you'll have to have a Kritter as a goalie. You will also have to choose
the position for your sidekicks.
_______________
C L A S S E S /
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
The characters all have different classes, but all characters that belong to
the same class have the same stats. Here they are.
NOTE: Different classes have different MegaStrike meters. The stronger have an
easy time getting a big number of balls, but, oddly, they have problems making
the shots fast. For the faster characters, it's vice versa.
Balanced
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
These characters are decent at everything, and are a good choice no matter
what. Their dekes are only small jumps, though. You can actually create a great
team with only balanced characters!
Characters: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Koopa, Shy Guy
Playmaker
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
These characters can run fast, and their passing is incredible. Their defense
and shooting is terrible, though, so you won't do well with only playmakers on
your team. They're mosly useful for quickly getting the ball white and
delivering it to a stronger player. Their dekes can be used to score a goal, by
jumping over (or teleporting in Boo's case) over the goalie. Playmakers can
also pass in the middle of a jump.
Characters: Peach, Diddy Kong, Toad, Boo
Power
ŻŻŻŻŻ
For these characters, strength is everything. If you're looking for a character
that can send your opponents flying in one hit and deliver incredibly strong
hits, choose one of these. They are slow and bad at passing, though, so having
a team with only power characters is not a wise choice. Their dekes are
protective moves that will harm all who touch them. You should have at least
one of these or an offensive character on your team.
Characters: DK, Bowser, Petey, Birdo, Monty Mole
Defensive
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
I recommend that you have at least one defensive on your team at all times.
There are few of them, but they are insanely quick and can deliver huge hits.
Their shooting and passing isn't good at all, though, so they're mostly good
for, well, defending. Their dekes are teleporting moves - if you get the ball
white, you can teleport straight into the goal!
Characters: Waluigi, Daisy, Dry Bones
Offensive
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
These players are a mix of playmaker and power, making them a great choice.
Their skills are all about the ball - passing and shooting. Like the power
characters, their dekes involve harming others. These guys also jump when they
do it, though they can't jump over the goalies like the playmakers can. I
recommend at least one of these, or a power character, on your team!
Characters: Wario, Bowser Jr., Hammer Bro.

C A P T A I N S/
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
The only characters that can use the Mega Strike. The colour of your sidekicks
depends on which captain you choose.
Mario
ŻŻŻŻŻ
Hmm, does he even need an introduction? He's Super Mario, what more can I say!
Type: Balanced
Speed 6 Shooting 6 Passing 6 Defence 6
Super Ability: Super Mario! - Grows to an enormous size and can crush anybody.
Deke: Normal
Tactics: Super Mario! is an excellent tool for a Mega Strike chance, if you
manage to hit everybody.
Counter-tactics: If Mario uses his Super Ability, slide tackling the ball is
the only way to stop him. Also, when he does a Mega Strike, he
shrinks - that's your chance to knock him out!
Comments: Mario is one of the most used characters on Wi-Fi. And, well, he's
ok, you can always trust Mario if you want to get something done in
the game.
Peach
ŻŻŻŻŻ
Peach is of course back, and tougher than she seems (and acts like).
Type: Playmaker
Speed 10 Shooting 3 Passing 10 Defence 3
Super Ability: Freeze Frame! - All characters surrounding Peach get frozen for
some seconds.
Deke: Jump
Tactics: Jumping over the goalie is a good tactic. Also, the Freeze Frame! may
give you a chance for a Mega Strike.
Counter-tactics: If Peach has the Freeze Frame! in her inventory when she has
the ball, switch to a fast character and stay away from her.
When she uses it, run up to Peach and hit her.
Comments: Her Freeze Frame needs to be activated when lots of players are
around and no opponent is close enough to get Peach for some seconds,
or else it's useless. Also, when you use Freeze Frame!, immediately
start a Mega Strike - Peach's normal shots are useless.
DK
ŻŻ
What would a Mario sports game be without this big, strong dude? Better known
as Donkey Kong, DK is one of the three most powerful captains.
Type: Power
Speed 3 Shooting 10 Passing 3 Defence 10
Super Ability: Thunder Wham! - Jumps up and slams the ground to knock away
anybody nearby.
Deke: Pounds his chest, knocking away players who touch him.
Tactics: If you get lucky with Thunder Wham!, you may get a Mega Strike chance.
Counter-tactics: See Peach's.
Comments: He's also very common on Wi-Fi, and he's ok to use. If you find the
right spot and time for Thunder Wham!, it could work well. He's an ok
choice.
Waluigi
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Waluigi's gone from offensive to defensive. And yes, he's still got the crotch
move. In case you were wondering.
Type: Defensive
Speed 10 Shooting 3 Passing 3 Defence 10
Super Ability: Wall-Luigi! - Creates a wall wherever he goes, which can be used
to trap others or defend himself.
Deke: Teleport
Tactics: You can teleport into the goal using the deke. Using his Wall-Luigi!,
you can close yourself up in a corner and perform a Mega Strike while
your opponents watch helplessly.
Counter-tactics: If he gets a Wall-Luigi! (it's not even rare at all), keep a
good eye out for Waluigi. If he tries to close himself up in a
corner, try your best to chase him into it and hit him at all
costs.
Comments: His Wall-Luigi! is so incredibly powerful if you use it right.
Waluigi is one of the best characters due to that. However, even
though he's defensive, he's always in the front, where he shouldn't
be.
Luigi
ŻŻŻŻŻ
Luigi's always so similar to Mario - look, I just lazily copied Mario's profile
here.
Type: Balanced
Speed 6 Shooting 6 Passing 6 Defence 6
Super Ability: Super Luigi! - Grows to an enormous size and can crush anybody.
Deke: Normal
Tactics: Super Luigi! is an excellent tool for a Mega Strike chance, if you
manage to hit everybody.
Counter-tactics: If Luigi uses his Super Ability, slide tackling the ball is
the only way to stop him. Also, when he does a Mega Strike, he
shrinks - that's your chance to knock him out!
Comments: He's the exact same as Mario, but for some reason not as popular on
Wi-Fi.
Wario
ŻŻŻŻŻ
The funny guy. He's been a lot into farting lately too, it seems.
Type: Offensive
Speed 3 Shooting 10 Passing 10 Defence 3
Super Ability: Gas Mask! - Wario farts, messing up the controls of anybody
caught in the green gas. He has a lot of "fart power", and you
can save some for whenever you want.
Deke: Ground pounds
Tactics: If you manage to mess up everybody's controls, do a Mega Strike while
they're struggling.
Counter-tactics: You can actually control perfectly when you've been hit by the
fart - the controls are only reversed.
Comments: A surprise attack with the Gas Mask! can send foes running off in the
completely wrong direction for a while, so when it comes to doing
Mega Strikes, Wario is pretty good.
Bowser
ŻŻŻŻŻŻ
The only newcomer captain who's unlocked from the start. Hmm, Bowser likes to
change his size from game to game, doesn't he?
Type: Power
Speed 3 Shooting 10 Passing 3 Defence 10
Super Ability: Fire Storm! - Breathes fire. Similair to Gas Mask!, Bowser has a
meter. It's a bit better, though, because when hit by the fire,
players will run around in panic. It also affects the keeper.
It's kind of harder to control, though.
Deke: Hides in his shell for a short time, damaging anybody who touches it.
Tactics: If you can't get the hang of burning other players, go for the goalie.
When burnt, he can only do rebounds, increasing your chance of
scoring.
Counter-tactics: Hit Bowser from behind before he can turn around and harm you
with fire.
Comments: His Fire Storm! is a bit slow, so it's not always that effective. If
you do get all nearby foes, though, you've just made yourself
invincible. Bowser is a pretty good choice.
Yoshi
ŻŻŻŻŻ
Big nosed, green something. I think it's strange that Yoshi's isn't fast like
in most other games.
Type: Balanced
Speed 6 Shooting 6 Passing 6 Defence 6
Super Ability: Egg Roll! - Rolls around in his egg, crushing anybody. Press B
to stop.
Deke: Normal
Tactics: If you manage to crush everybody, the Egg Roll does give you a chance.
Counter-tactics: You can run away from his Super Ability pretty easily.
Comments: Yoshi's big hit is a bit different, because when using his tounge, it
never puts him in any danger. Except from that, Yoshi is ok.
Daisy
ŻŻŻŻŻ
She seems to get more and more mad in every release. She also seems to change
play styles all the time (She's been technique, balanced, offensive and now
defensive... have I missed something?).
Type: Defensive
Speed 10 Shooting 3 Passing 3 Defence 10
Super Ability: Crystal Smash! - A lot of crystals pop up from the ground and
knock away nearby players.
Deke: Teleport
Tactics: See DK's.
Counter-tactics: See DK's.
Comments: Like Waluigi, Daisy is kind of in the wrong place. Her Super Ability
isn't as godly powerful as Waluigi's, so if you have the choice
between the two, go for the purple guy.
Bowser Jr.
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Junior, my least favourite of Bowser's eight kids. I don't need to explain, do
I...? Well, he's annoying here too. But at least he got rid of the bandana.
Type: Offensive
Speed 3 Shooting 10 Passing 10 Defence 3
Super Ability: Sonic Roar! - Bowser Jr. roars, making a shockwaves move in a
straight path, which shrinks the enemies.
Deke: Ground pound
Tactics: None
Counter-tactics: If you get hit by the Sonic Roar!, don't worry, you can still
do anything, you're just small and slower.
Comments: His Super Ability is just... not good at all. Otherwise, he's an ok
character.
-- Jr. is unlocked by beating him in the Fire Cup --
Diddy Kong
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Hmm... what can I really say about him? Well, it's weird that he has his full
name displayed, while Donkey Kong is just called DK... That wasn't interesting,
was it?
Type: Playmaker
Speed 10 Shooting 3 Passing 10 Defence 3
Super Ability: Red Card! - A tractor beam steals some players and keeps them
away from the field for a long time.
Deke: Jump
Tactics: Jumping over the goalie, and using the Super Ability to get a good
Mega Strike chance.
Counter-tactics: Just keep an eye out for Diddy when he gets the Red Card!, and
avoid the tractor beam at all costs.
Comments: His Super Ability is probably the second best (Waluigi's being THE
best), and he's a very good captain. I've _never_ seen him used on
Wi-Fi before, only by myself.
-- Diddy is unlocked by beating him in the Crystal Cup --
Petey Piranha
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
And I thought he was done being in all Mario games. Oh well. He's actually
pretty cool. Do the limbo!
Type: Power
Speed 3 Shooting 10 Passing 3 Defence 10
Super Ability: Mud Slinger! - Spits mud on the field, which anybody will walks
slowly in. He has a meter for how much of it he can use.
Deke: Rattles his head, harming anybody who touches him.
Tactics: His Mud Slinger! can be used for a Mega Strike chance...
Counter-tactics: ...But it's pretty easy to avoid as well.
Comments: His Mud Slinger! can knock away people as well. He's an ok choice...
and pretty cool otherwise as well.
-- Petey is unlocked by beating him in the Striker Cup --

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
While the sidekicks can't use the all-powerful Mega Strike, they still have
some special skills. Pick your sidekicks wisely and find a combination you
like!
Koopa Troopa
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Koopa's your average guy and good old Mario enemy. He seems a little too calm
for this type of sport...
Type: Balanced
Speed 6 Shooting 6 Passing 6 Defence 6
Skillshot: Shell Smash - Sends a huge metal Koopa shell at the goalie, stunning
him.
Deke: Normal
Tactics: If the ball happens to land in a teammate's hands (feet) after the
Shell Smash, fire away!
Counter-tactics: If Koopa uses his skillshot, run for the ball and get it away
from the goal as quickly as possible.
Comments: Probably the most rare character on Wi-Fi. But still, he's an ok
chocie that fits on any team. Shy Guy is probably the better of the
two balanced sidekicks, though.
Toad
ŻŻŻŻ
This mushroom person has always been fast, and he is this time as well (Now
he's acrobatic too!). Looks like Toad is the most armoured player, and he needs
it with that soft head of his...
Type: Playmaker
Speed 10 Shooting 3 Passing 10 Defence 3
Skillshot: Fire Meteor - Sends a burning ball at the goalie. If he's hit, he
can't catch the ball for a while, only make rebounds.
Deke: Jump
Tactics: Jumping over the goalie
Counter-tactics: If he uses the Fire Meteor, get the ball away immediately,
just to be safe. It's not that dangerous, though.
Comments: His Fire Meteor can mostly be stopped very easily. But he's
acceptable - his jumping deke makes up for it.
Dry Bones
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Do they really allow dead people to play this game? Dry Bones is one of the
cooles characters in my opinion... But how can a rotten skeleton be so strong?
Type: Defensive
Speed 10 Shooting 3 Passing 3 Defence 10
Skillshot: Shocker - Electrifies the ball, leaving the goal open. As if that
wasn't enough, the ball comes straight back to him and gives him a
good chance to score!
Deke: Teleport
Tactics: Try teleporting into the goal when the ball is white.
Counter-tactics: If he uses the Shocker, hit Dry Bones before the ball comes
back.
Comments: One of the most used characters on Wi-Fi. The Shocker is great, and
makes up for his terrible shooting because it has the speed and power
of an offensive/power character. That makes him a very good choice
for any team. He's also the only defensive character, so he is really
the one I recommend the most.
Boo
ŻŻŻ
No, you don't have to be alive OR have feet to play Strikers. Boo carries the
ball inside his body and... kind of spits it out. Or something.
Type: Playmaker
Speed 10 Shooting 3 Passing 10 Defence 3
Skillshot: ??? - Becomes invisible and flies through the goalie, then shoots
the ball. Completely useless unless you're really close.
Deke: Quick teleport, leaves Boo unable to use it again for some seconds
Tactics: Teleporting through the goalie - you'll have to time it very well,
though. Try hitting B as soon as you emerge from behind Kritter.
Counter-tactics: None
Comments: His deke is bad because he has to charge, and his Skillshot rarely
works at all. Boo isn't that good at all, really.
Birdo
ŻŻŻŻŻ
Don't even get me started on the whole male/female thing. If you don't know
what I'm talking about, it's best that way. Trust me. Well, Birdo's pretty
strong for a character that usually is a quick type in games.
Type: Power
Speed 3 Shooting 10 Passing 3 Defence 10
Skillshot: Extreme Egg - Birdo fires an unstoppable egg at the goal, knocking
down the goalie and going into the goal - an instant goal, in other
words! It can be stopped by standing in front of it, though.
Deke: Spins around, knocking down anybody nearby.
Tactics: Spinning around can knock down others, giving you a good chance for a
shot.
Counter-tactics: As I've said, you can stand in front of the Extreme Egg to
stop it.
Comments: If you have nobody to stand in front of Birdo, all hope is lost.
Birdo is a good choice, I recommend her (him?) on your team. Her
(his?) deke is pretty good too.
Hammer Bros.
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
A Koopa-like character that also resembles a bird. Kinda. He's very fond of
hammers - he even goes around hitting opponents with them... Is that even
legal?
Type: Offensive
Speed 3 Shooting 10 Passing 10 Defence 3
Skillshot: Jumps up in the air, throws hammers, then shoots the ball. Instant
goal every time, if you're close enough.
Deke: Slams a hammer into the ground, stunning anybody it hits
Tactics: Using his deke followed by a skillshot is guaranteed goal if you
manage to do it.
Counter-tactics: Said tactic is hated more than Hitler, though, and chances are
high that people who use it will either be victims of a
disconnection, or be beaten by far (most people practice
countering this tactic, and are good at it). To counter it,
stand around and wait near Hammer Bro., preferably with a
hard-hitting character (Dry Bones is ideal here). The instant
before he lands, do a big hit, and you should hit him between
the dekes. Also, you can just wait around for him to stop
deking or trying to shoot.
Comments: I've basically said everything about him. He's very overused and
hated, but if you use him properly and fight like a man, he's great
for your team.
Monty Mole
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
A really, really, _really_ fat mole that has been in almost as many spin-offs
as real games. Hmm... what more? Nope, nothing else.
Type: Power
Speed 3 Shooting 10 Passing 3 Defence 10
Skillshot: Dirt Drill - He digs a tunnel towards the goal, then pops up and
shoots. It's a bit like Boo's, but better because he can knock out
the goalie if he's at the right distance, giving him a much better
chance at scoring.
Deke: Burrows underground and pops up again, knocking down whoever he hits
Tactics: None
Counter-tactics: None
Comments: Monty's deke is pretty good, but except from that... he's just
basically an ok choice. Birdo is a little bit better, though.
Shy Guy
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
He's a shy guy. I didn't notice until recently, but man, _look_ at those feet
go! He walks like crazy. I love this shy guy.
Type: Balanced
Speed 6 Shooting 6 Passing 6 Defence 6
Skillshot: Bullet Bill Blast - A Bullet Bill pops up from nowhere, taking Shy
Guy on a ride towards the goal. If he hits someone before the Bullet
Bill starts properly, he'll explode at that spot, but if he starts
properly, nothing can stop him on his way. When he hits the goalie,
he knocks out everyone nearby, including himself. However, he gets
up quicker than the others, so he has a good chance at scoring a
goal.
Deke: Normal
Tactics: After his Skillshot has been use, either wait for Shy Guy to wake up,
then shoot, or get another character who didn't faint to do it.
Counter-tactics: If he starts his Skillshots, pick a quick character, run for
cover, then come back when everyone's dazed and run off with
the ball as quickly as possible.
Comments: One of my favourites, this guy fits in any team, and is a bit better
than Koopa.

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
The goalkeeper - also known as goalie (I'm sure I've also called him keeper a
couple of times in this FAQ, I hope you won't get confused) - is really
important. If you had no goalie, your opponent would probably score close to
50 goals without any problem at all.
Kritter
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
He's the only possible goalie. You can't choose. Kritter is one of the bad guys
in Donkey Kong Country - the Kremlings. He's a crocodile (or something closely
related to that) who's not exactly afraid to do some damage on the field.
Kritter can actually roundhouse kick a player half across the field if he feels
like it, pull Monty Mole straight up from the ground and throw him into the
fence. Yeah, he's a strong guy who even has to go through hand-burning,
electrifying, hammer throws and much more. Every. Single. Match. Kritter is
also invincible to normal items and enemy attacks. Awesome!

This game contains the seven, old, underwhelming stadiums from the previous
game, plus ten new stadiums with all-new special features in all of them.
That's what I'm talking about!
________________________
N E W S T A D I U M S/
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
The Vice
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Ok, so I was lying. Not all new stadiums have special features - this one is
almost like the Palace from Mario Smash Football, the only difference being
that the ground is cracked.
Thunder Island
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
A tiny, mountain-ish island in the middle of the ocean. Watch out, because
there is no electric fence to "protect" you, so if you go too far you'll fall
off, and will have to wait a while to get back. Also, the wind is blowing
incredibly much, and stuff like Cheep Cheeps and huge cows will be blown across
the island, knocking off anybody it hits. This may give you a good Mega Strike
chance! Due to the wind, the ball will also be moved around on its own when
nobody has it. When on thunder island, try to knock down many players, even if
it means they get items. Less opponents means a bigger chance to pull off a
powerful shot!
The Sand Tomb
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
A sandy place in the middle of, well, a desert. You need to think strategically
here, because there are two 'routes' you can take. In the middle of the field,
the ground is hard and solid, and you can run fast. However, over that part of
the stadium, there are a lot of Thwomps that will try to crush you. If you take
the safe route in the sand, though, no Thwomps will harm you, but you'll run
slow. Not just slow, painfully slow. Thwomps will occasionally block shots too,
making this the most dangerous and frustrating stadium. Watch out!
The Classroom
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Another stadium without any hazards. This one is inside a white, extremly tall
building of sorts. Looks pretty nice, actually! There's no audience here. It's
used for practicing in Strikers ABC.
The Lava Pit
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
This stadium is, obviously, in the middle of a huge lava pit. The entire
stadium is rocky. Sometimes, a huge fireball - sometimes even several of them -
will land on the ground, creating a big, hot circle of fire. Anybody who runs
into the fire gets hurt, and if the ball touches it, it'll bounce away. Avoid
them at all costs! This makes everything hectic, and if you just run into the
fire, you'll be giving your opponent free Skillshot/MegaStrike chances.

The Wastelands
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
This stadium is really slippery - in fact, the ground is made of ice! Movement
here can be tricky, so watch where you're going. In addition, lightning will
sometimes strike. It will strike random places twice as a warning, then on the
third strike it will hit the ball. When you see the "warning" strikes, just
leave the ball alone to avoid injuries, and your opponent may even be stupid
enough to take it and get struck by the lighting. For a cheap goal, kick a weak
ball at the keeper when the warning lightnings come, and if you time it right,
the lightning will stun him because he's holding the ball. If you hurry, it'll
be an easy goal!
-- Earn the Brick Wall and the Golden Foot Awards in the Fire Cup to unlock for
Domination Mode --
Crystal Canyon
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
A normal stadium in the middle of a canyon, surrounded by huge crystals. At the
start of the match, one or two of the players on each team will be zapped away!
That leaves you with few players, making the game challenging. However, this
also means that there are fewer opponents, and therefore it may be easier to
get a scoring chance. After every goal, all players will be back, but one or
two players on each team will also be zapped again.
-- Win the Crystal Cup to unlock for Domination Mode --
The Dump
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
A rainy field where something brown (You have to use your imagination here,
there's no description of what it actually is) is running down towards the
middle of the field. Movement here is a pain in the arse, and it's in my
opinion the worst stadium because of that.
-- Earn the Brick Wall and the Golden Foot Awards in the Crystal Cup to unlock
for Domination Mode --
Stormship Stadium
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
A stadium on a flying ship (or something). This stadium will tilt in the
direction wherever the most players are. Also, lightning will strike in the
middle sometimes, and will travel down a few of the paths on the field. You
should avoid the middle as well as those paths at all costs, even when there's
no lighting there, because it strikes pretty often, and you're very likely to
get hit. It may sound easy to avoid the lightning, but it's everywhere! This is
a really infuriating place.
-- Win the Striker Cup to unlock for Domination Mode --
Galactic Stadium
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
As far as I can see, there are no hazards here either, on this stadium in the
middle of space. It may be that movement is slower or faster than usual, but
honestly, the differences, if any, are hard to notice.
-- Earn the Brick Wall and the Golden Foot Awards in the Striker Cup to unlock
for Domination Mode--

Bowser Stadium
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Bowser's blue stadium flying around at an extremly high speed. In space. And
oddly, it's all blue and not covered in lava. Weird.
The Battle Dome
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
A metallic stadium, located in Bowser's Castle (According to Mario Smash
Football).
Konga Coliseum
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
This stadium actually is wooden. It's located somewhere in the jungle.
Crater Field
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
This big crater on Yoshi's Island (again, according to Smash Football) is used
as a grassy stadium.
The Palace
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
The very first stadium of Mario Smash Football, looking a bit like a palace.
Pipeline Central
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
According to the game's website, this was built for Mario and Luigi and is
located in the sky. It seems to be raining slightly at times.
The Underground
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Also according to said website, this stadium was built by Wario and Waluigi.
This one actually doesn't look like the classic one at all, being kind of
grassy instead of metallic, and having a lot of red in it as well.

[item] P O W E R - U P S
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Power-ups - they give you huge goal opportunities. They can be gained by
getting an innocent player hit (by innocent, I mean not carrying the ball) or
by sending a well charged ball towards the goal. Use them by pressing C, and
shake the nunchuck to switch between the two you can carry at a time.
Bananas
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Usefulness: Terrible - Great (Depending on whether you use the tactic below)
Basically, that's what they are. Or, well, banana peels. They come in bunches
of five, three and even one. As you may have figured out, they make people
slip and fall. They've shrunk since Mario Smash Football, and will now be
placed in a random direction, making them even more useless (And getting one
single banana is just an insult).
TIP: Actually, you can use the bananas to block yourself in a corner or another
tricky place if you do it right, then pull off a MegaStrike or something else.
They will also block Birdo's Extreme Egg, so if you know your bananas, they're
not really all that useless.
- Thanks for telling me, JKill09!
Green Shells
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Usefulness: Bad - Fantastic
These will be fired in one direction and bounce of walls. They aren't very
effective at long range, but if you can get close to someone, you can fire
those at them, giving you a chance for a good charged shot. They break when
they hit players. Green Shells come in giant versions, which won't break when
they hit someone.
Red Shells
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Usefulness: Very Good
They will track down and follow random nearby players, knocking them down like
Green Shells. They can be a bit random at times, though, becuase they may as
well hit your teammates. Their huge counterparts are to the small Red Sheels,
what the Giant Green Shells are to the small Green Shells.
Blue Shells
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Usefulness: Good
Those are worth their weight in gold, because they freeze the players they hit
for a pretty long time, giving you a huge chance for a Skillshot, a Mega Strike
or at least a fully charged shot. These also have huge counterparts, and
they're no different from the other huge ones.
Spiny Shells
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Usefulness: Good
These are basically Green Shells, but they won't break very easily at all. Very
good if you want to cause some random chaos. I don't need to explain the giant
version, do I...?
Bob-ombs
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Usefulness: Good
Unlike in Smash Football, they won't be thrown from your character, but they
will fall in a line from the sky, get stuck in the ground, then explode. They
won't land directly at the player who has the ball, but will usually land next
to him (or another player, sometimes), making them a little less powerful. They
come in giant size as well, which causes a bigger explosion.
Mushroom
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Usefulness: Good
This makes you grow slightly in size (which makes no difference), and you'll
become faster. The most common item, which is pretty useless unless you've just
got to chase someone.
Star
ŻŻŻŻ
Usefulness: Fantastic
This one makes you invincible for a short time. If you use it strategically, it
can lead to some guaranteed goals. For example, you can start a Mega Strike,
then activate the star when someone comes close to you. It's almost like a free
Mega Strike!
Chain Chomp
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Usefulness: Good - Fantastic (Depending on what it actually wants to do)
This one is so awesome, sadly you will rarely get it unless you're being
absolutely destroyed. It drops down on the field, runs around and attacks all
players on the opposing team (It won't go around friendly players, though). If
your opponent gets one, all you can do is pray.
...But there is always the chance that your 'Chomp will run off early, or
decide to get some far off opponents instead of the one(s) chasing you.
Super Abilities
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Usefulness: Terrible - Fantastic
Well, these come in item forms. They're the captains', well, super powerful
abilities. You can read more about them in the Characters [char] section.
Basically, they look like the face of your captain.

Classic Mode
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
This one's for you that don't like those fancy, new MegaStrikes and Skillshots
- it removes them completely! Now you're left with charged shots only.

I thought I'd put this before all the other modes, because it teaches you how
to play the game. If you prefer text over visual demonstration, read this (and
stop playing games if the above matches your personality.).
1/10 Bowser: The Basics!
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
All you need to do here is to score a goal. You are Bowser with one Dry Bones,
one Toad and one Hammer Bro. There are no opponents, so just fire away! Still,
Mario's goalie is there and you have 1 minute, so you don't have that much
time to fool around. You don't have access to special skills either.
2/10 Mario: Charging the Ball!
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Your goal here is to score one goal by charging up the ball. You are Mario, you
have one Toad, one Hammer Bro. and one Koopa. To charge up the ball, you can
hold B (followed by releasing it to shoot, or A to pass immediately), pass the
ball, or press Z to chip it ahead to charge the ball. When the ball is charged,
try giving it to Hammer Bro. for a powerful shot. The time here is 1 minute
too, and there are no special skills for you to use. The oppposing team is
Luigi's, but only the goalie is there.
3/10 Kritter: Making Mega Saves!
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
This one is a little different. With no players, Mario's team is helpless!
Luckily, Kritter the goalie is still there to protect you from DK's Mega
Strikes. Also, you start with 12 goals, so as long as you can keep DK from
scoring too much using Mega Strikes, the victory is yours. He also only has 20
seconds to do it.
So, how do you do this? Simple! When a Mega Strike is launched, a minigame will
start. You have to aim your Wii Remote at the screen using the glove-pointer to
defend yourself. When you spot an incoming ball, aim for it, then when your
hands are covering it properly up, press A to destroy it.
DK won't go all that hard on you, even though he can get some occasional good
Mega Strikes. You'll probably do fine anyway. Excpect to see some far meaner
attacks later on.
4/10 Mario: The Mega Strike!
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Now, it's time to use the Mega Strike. To use it, hold B until a meter appears.
Now, press B to select a number of balls. The longer you let the needle go to
the left, the more balls (up to six!) you will launch. If you go to far,
though, you'll end up with 3. After that, press B as the needle is in the
colour regions. If you hit the grey, your Mega Strike will be slow and easy to
stop. Green Mega Strikes are pretty hard to stop, and orange Mega Strikes are
_really_ hard to stop.
In this match, Mario is behind Bowser by 12 goals! Use as many Mega Strikes as
you can to win - you've got only 20 seconds! It won't be hard without
opponents, though.
5/10 Hammer Bros.: Sidekick Skillshots!
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Now, you'll learn to use Skillshots. They're simple as well - get the ball, and
hold B until the Skillshot activates.
This one is Hammer Bros'. Skillshot, where he throws a bunch of hammers at the
goalie. If you want a guaranteed goal, just stay pretty close to Kritter, and
use your skill. Again, there are no enemies, so you won't have any problem
getting the three goals you need.
6/10 Boo: Skillshots Part Two!
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
This time you're Boo, and you're fighting against one Monty Mole. The goal is
to score three times using Boo's Skillshots. For this Skillshot, you need to be
at a very spesific range, so it's a little different from the Hammer Bros'.
Skillshot. If Monty gets the ball, tackle him of use a big hit. He's pretty
lazy though, so it should be fine.
7/10 Mario: Super Mario Time!
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Now, let's look at the Super Abilities. You're Mario, playing against Luigi.
You'll constantly gain the Super Ability item, which activates Super Mario!,
Mario's Super Ability. Use it to get the ball for Luigi and score three goals
to win. If you want to be cheap, you can combine it with Mega Strike when
Luigi, the only opposing player, is dazed! Use it with C, by the way!
8/10 DK: Bringing the Thunder!
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Another Super Ability lesson. You're DK (In pink because you're against Wario,
whose colour is yellow. Stylish!) with two Toads on your team. Wario has only
himself (and, of course, Kritter). As DK, use his Thunder Wham! to clear space,
then attack with a Mega Strike or a charged shot. You can also use your Toads
and thier Skillshots, by the way!
9/10 Mario: Using Power Ups!
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
This one teaches you how to use Power Ups, or items as I call them. Press C to
use them, and to gain them, you must release a well charged shot or get hit
when you don't have the ball. Use them to your advantage against Bowser and his
full (But not challenging) team. You have a Toad, a Dry Bones and a Hammer Bro.
on your team, so use all you've learned in combination with items to win the
match.
10/10 Mario: Winning the Match!
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
It's you and your sidekicks in a fair match with Bowser and his sidekicks. It's
a normal match - use your skills and win!
Have you cleared all lessons? Good work, now go for the real game!

Road to the Striker Cup is a mode where you and your hopefully very carefully
selected team will take on a bunch of other teams, also hoping to win the
Striker Cup. And I mean every letter of the words "carefully selected", because
you can't change your team - not even your sidekicks! There are three cups, the
Fire, Crystal and Striker Cups. Where are the Mushroom, Flower and Star Cups?
Who knows! ...And who really cares? Regardless of their names, I'm going to

- All characters are randomly selected - so, sorry, I cannot give you any
detailed walthroughs.
- The cup starts off round robin-style, meaning you have to battle each team
once or twice, depending on the cup.
- In this stage, you get three points for winning, two for winning in Sudden
Death and zero for losing.
- The x best players from the group stage advances to the knockout stage. Lose
once here and you're out - yes, you have to start over again!
- Try to get as many goals and concede as few goals as you possibly can in the
group stage; if you get the record, you'll get a Brick Wall award (For
conceding the fewest goals) and/or a Golden Foot award (For scoring the most
goals). Get both in one cup, and a new stage is yours for use in Domination!
- Beat the knockout stage, and another stage is yours!
- After the cup is won, the champion will challenge you. Win and you can play
as him in Domination! Each cup has an initial champion, but after it's
beaten once, it will get a new champion.
Qestions and answers
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
"How do I change my team?"
- You have to start the _whole_ cup over again. Yes, all the way back to the
start of the Fire Cup. (T_T)
"What happens if I turn off the Wii in the middle of a match?"
- That translates as you forfeiting the match; You'll automatically lose that
one.
"If I lose even once in the knockout stage/champion match, will I get another
chance?"
- As said above, no.
"So I have to start Road to the Strikers Cup all over if that happens?"
- No, you will start the current cup over.
"What's with the character images in the pre-match room?"
- They're actually part of the room you see in Hall of Fame - they're captain
cards, which tell you about cheats you've unlocked.
"Once in a while, Striker Times pops up - does it mean anything?"
- No, it's just there to tell you how it all is progressing, like a sports
newspaper (On the bottom half of a Nintendo DS...).

Odd name for a Mario Sports cup. Usually it would be something like "Mushroom
Cup". Oh well. This one's laughably easy.
- The initial champion is Bowser Jr..
- There are 4 teams, you have to play each twice (meaning that you'll play 6
matches in the group stage).
- Top two advance to knockout stage (Meaning you have to be one of the best to
get there... but that isn't hard!).
- Knockout stage: Only one round.
- Champion battle: A three-series long battle against Bowser Jr.. Not insanely
hard, to say the least. Very, very easy, in fact. I shouldn't need to tell
you how to win.

- The initial champion is Diddy Kong.
- There are 6 teams, you have to play each twice (meaning that you'll play 10
matches in the group stage).
- Top four advance to knockout stage.
- Knockout stage: Two rounds.
- Champion battle: Diddy Kong, in a three-series match. Watch out for his Red
Card move, as it'll remove players from your team. The match is played in
Crystal Canyon, so you and Diddy will always have only two or three players
on your teams (not counting Kritter). Becuase there are so few opponents,
power-ups should come in handy here. When you're chased by someone, use a
power-up to take care of them, and use whatever special skill your controlled
character has to score!

This cup name makes more sense than the two others; you are playing Mario
STRIKERS, after all. Oh, and it's insane. The difficuly, I mean. Good lord!
- The initial champion is Petey (Piranha).
- There are 10 teams, you have to play each once (meaning that you'll play 9
matches in the group stage).
- Top eight advance to knockout stage (meaning it's very possible to get
_there_, at least).
- Knockout stage: Three rounds.
- Champion battle: Finally; Petey! This is a three-series match. And you will
most likely lose. Good luck - you'll need it. Honestly, I cannot even give
any strategies for this one, becuase whatever you do, Petey will 95% of the
time counter it perfectly. Just keep pressing on and doing the best you can.
If nothing else works, use some cheap tricks that you can find in the General
Tactics [gent] section.

Looking for some bone-crushing hard stuff that punches you in the face and
yells "You suck at this game!" in your face every single time you lose until
you win at your 40th attemt (Not completely literally)? Look no further, the
last part of these 12 challenges will keep you busy for a while!
1/12 Mario: Till Sudden Death Do Us Part! (Novice)
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
You are Mario, you have a Monty Mole, a Toad and a Boo on your team. The
opposing team is DK with a Toad, a Birdo and a Hammer Bro. The objective is to
win in Sudden Death (which has already started), by scoring a single goal. DK
is dumb as a log on the novice level, so this should be a breeze no matter
what. If you can't do it, all you need to do is to practice some techniques.
2/12 Luigi: Sibling Rivalry! (Novice)
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Things are looking bad for Luigi. As Luigi, you have two Koopas on your team,
but the last team member is missing! Mario, on the other hand, has a full team
with a Dry Bones, a Toad and a Monty Mole. You're also down by two goals,
meaning you must score at least three goals to win - and that's not counting
any possible goals Mario may get. Fortunately, Mario is no smarter than DK was
in the previous challenge, so if you can press in a Skillshot or a MegaStrike
(or even a normal shot, all your characters are decent at shooting) here and
there, you should do fine.
3/12 DK: This Monkey Shines! (Professional)
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
You're DK with two Toads and a Boo, against Petey and his team in the Stormship
Stadium. You're three goals behind, so you have to score a minimum of four! Not
only that, but with one power captain and three playmakers, your team is pretty
unblalanced. I suggest that you use the Sidekicks to pass the ball around until
it's white, then give it to DK and try a shot. If that doesn't work, you don't
really have any good Skillshots to use, but if all hope is lost, try jumping
over the goalie with Toad - that will earn you some goals!
4/12 Peach: Battle for the Crown! (Professional)
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
You are Peach with a Boo, a Koopa and a Shy Guy. You're playing against Daisy.
In this match, you have to beat Daisy by a whopping five goals - you actually
have to score five goals MORE than her! There's no doubt you need to use at
least one MegaStrike here - so be on the lookout for a Freeze Frame! You can
also rely a bit on Shy Guy and Koopa's Skillshots. At least you have a well
balanced team. The difficulty has ramped up quite a bit, so you'll probably
need some retries!
5/12 Daisy: Brick Wall Baby! (Superstar)
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
You - Daisy - have a team of one Toad, one Hammer Bros. and one Koopa. You're
against Waluigi with a Monty Mole, a Hammer Bro. and a Birdo. The objective is
to win without conceding a single goal! The bad news: It's in the Lava Pit, so
anything could happen to your precious players. If Waluigi scores, there's no
point in continuing, just quit and try again. But really, you should do just
fine, he's not that hard if you just practice. Also, remember that one goal is
enough - if you can do that, just go in defensive mode for the rest of the
match and try keeping the ball away from Waluigi.
6/12 Wario: A Stunning Situation! (Superstar)
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Dry Bones, Birdo and Toad are on your team for this match. You're against Diddy
with a Hammer Bros., Koopa and a Monty Mole. The initial score is 2-2, and you
need to win. However, Kritter has some head problems and will get stunned very
easily. The goal is simply to win despite his problems. Just make sure you use
your teammates wisely, and this, too, will go well. Not a very hard challenge,
if you just make your opponents shoot as little as possible.
7/12 Waluigi: Three Goals Away! (Superstar)
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Difficulty is starting to ramp up with Waluigi and his team of two Boos and a
Monty Mole having to win by three goals against Luigi and his two Dry Bones and
his Monty Mole. Your team also has a disadvantage - all players but Monty are
terrible at shooting. It's also hard to cheaply close yourself up in a corner
with Wall-Luigi here, because you're playing on Thunder Island, where you could
fall off if you try to do that. If you're good at goalie-jumping, you could
easily win with the Toads - if not, you simply have to practice to win. By the
way, your time is insanely short - so if you end up in Sudden Death, you'll
have to get three MegaStrike goals (that's actually most likely the best way to
do this!)
8/12 Yoshi: So Far Behind... (Legend)
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
In this one you have in your team a Koopa and two Hammer Bros, and you play
against Wario and three Dry Bones. the trick is to charge the ball and do a
high pass (Z+A). With this Wario´s team will hit you, usually giving you a
Star. Just pass the ball to Yoshi and use the Star immediately and try to do a
MegaStrike of 4 (you sure will be able to). Usually 2 will score, so, doing
this three times or more you will succes. Of course you can use your Hammer
Bros. to do a normal Skillshot with a white ball which will score for sure.
Thanks for the tip, uzamaki_henry! (Sligtly edited)
For Yoshi's challenge, although I had to do it for hours and hours, I completed
it, but I can't guarantee it will work every time.
At the start, i deke down, staying close to the halfway line, for some reason
Wario doesnt tackle if you go down there, so I can usually get a 4 ball
MegaStrike. If not, I charge and shoot, if you can shoot at the very bottom and
right on the halfway line, Kritter cant save it, plus you get either Yoshis
Power up or a star. If you get Yoshis power up, flatten everyone else and make
a MegaStrike. If you get the star, start a 6 ball MegaStrike; but you usually
will only get one or two goals. There are rare instances where you get 4. Other
than that, Hammer Bros. can deke and skillshot; the only problem is that Wario
has 3 dry bones that almost always use their Skillshot/teleport and get a goal.
Thanks for the tip, needtogetalife! (Slightly edited)
9/12 Bowser: Zero Tolerance! (Legend)
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Dry Bones, Koopa and Boo - that's Bowser's team for this match, against Peach's
Toad, Monty and Birdo. The objective is, exactly like in Daisy's challenge, to
win without conceding a single goal. This is surprisingly easy! Just score a
goal quickly with whatever tactic you fancy, then slam on the defense and
you'll win without trying again once. Piece of cake!
10/12 Petey: Tag Team Tussle! (Legend)
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
It's two on two, with Petey and a Monty and DK and a Toad. This really couldn't
be easier - two less players equal much worse defense. And with your two hard-
hitters, you can easily wipe away DK and Toad and win. I wonder why the Legend
challenges went from impossible to pretty easy to practically letting you

11/12 Bowser Jr.: Against All Odds! (MegaStriker)
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
You're Bowser Jr. with a team of one Koopa, one Hammer Bro. and one Dry Bones,
up against Bowser's team of three Toads. In this match, you don't get ANY power-
ups - but Bowser does! It sounds like Bowser's team is underpowered with those
Toads, but they know what they're doing! They're insane, jumping around
everywhere. With your extremly limited defense, getting control of the ball
isn't that easy either. But when you first have it, you should really try
teleporting into the goal as Dry Bones. Also, you should obviously make great
use of your two offensive players, Jr. and Hammer Bros. Note that the latter
player's deke rarely works against computer players (even on Novice level- and
this is MegaStriker!), so you shouldn't rely on that. What you need here is a
lot of luck - just hit away and pray that Bowser doesn't get his Super Ability,
because when he does (And trust me, sooner or later he WILL), all hell breaks
lose. Do not let him do a MegaStrike, because it's deadly - he'll always get
orange. I can't really give you any better strategies, because your team isn't
exactly better than "so-so", just practice a lot and you'll eventually win.
12/12 Diddy Kong: Lucky Seven! (MegaStriker)
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
For Diddy Kong's challenge, your key player should not actually be Diddy, but
your Dry Bones. Either of the two. Just make sure that at least one of them is
with you at all times. Since Dry Bones is the fastest character on the field in
this match, you should try to put as much space as you can manage between you
and your opponents while carrying the ball. You'll want to take a charge shot
at their goalie to get yourself an item. Almost any item will help you out, but
just give yourself enough room to launch his Skillshot. It's a guaranteed
goalie stunner, and if the opponents are far enough from you, it's a guaranteed
goal.
In the event that both of your Dry Bones are zapped before play starts, use
Diddy to run the ball into your own goal. As crazy as it may sound, it'll save
you time, and also will more than likely get you your Dry Bones back. Using Dry
Bones' Skillshot is way WAY more reliable than trying to use Diddy's
MegaStrike. In this match, the MegaStrike is way too difficult to set up, and
even more difficult to score with.
(Also, if time is running out and you've only gotten six goals, try to force a
tie before the clock winds down. You can buy yourself more time in sudden death
to get your last goal, rather than trying to score, missing and then having to
restart. You've got the fastest characters on the field, so if you've got 6 and
the opponent's a little behind, use either Dry Bones or Diddy to run the ball
into your net to tie it up.)
Thanks for the tip, RicanPyroPrince!

The long-awaited mode! Finally (slowly, but steadily), Nintendo's bringing
online play to home consoles. So, here's a little 'walkthrough' of the menus
and what to do in this mode.
NOTE: I do not cover errors here, so don't even ask. Sorry!

This is what you need to do before you can play. Pick any Mii you've made (If
you haven't, go ahead and make one on the Mii Channel!) and pick "USE THIS
Mii?" to log in. This is your avatar, representing you, and will appear when
you play against others. If you've played as this Mii before, your total wins
and losses will appear (This is NOT your seasonal stats, these are only
viewable at this point and never get erased) as well as the last date it was
used. Also if you've used it before, you will have the option to "UNLINK THIS
Mii?", which means that all your stats get erased to it.
When logging in, you should see three messages: "CONNECTING TO NINTENDO WI-FI
CONNECTION", "LOGGING IN" and "GETTING STATISTICS".
Questions and answers:
"What happens if I delete my Mii from the Mii channel?"
- Then your profile will be deleted too.
"How do I change my name?"
- Go to the Mii channel and change the Mii's name.

This is you start point in your Wi-Fi adventure. At the top, you'll see how
much time there is left in the season, with D meaning days, H meaning hours and
M meaning minutes. When this time runs out, the season resets. Depending on
where you are, this should reset between sunday and monday. What happens when
it resets is that everybody's seasonal stats and points get erased, and the
whole leaderboard starts over again - this way, you could take a break for
months, then come back and still have a chance to get high up on the 'board.
Also up there is a line that tells you how many of your friends are online.
Below that, you'll see your name and a picture of your Mii, as well as your
ranking in the leaderboard and the number of points you've gotten this day. To
the right of this picture is the Striker of the Day, the person who has the
most points for the current day. You will see their Mii, their name and the
number of points this person has this day.
Below that again, there are four options - "FRIENDLY", "RANKED", "FRIEND
ROSTER" and "LEADERBOARD".
Questions and answers:
"Help, my stats are all gone!"
- I already explained this, but it's here anyway. This is because the season
has reset - read the first paragraph!

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
If you click this, you can start a Friendly match which you can invite a friend
into. When you start, you get to choose whether to play alone or with a guest.
When that's done, the rest of the options are just like Domination Mode [domi]
(Except you don't select captains, sidekicks or sides yet).
Now, it's time to invite a friend. Naturally, select "INVITE FRIEND" then pick
someone that happens to be online at the time. They will get an invite. Now
just wait for them to accept or reject!
If they accept, you will get a connection rating, with four stars being the
best and one being the worst. Accept or reject the connection. Now, you will
have to choose your sides. If you want a particular side, just make sure to be
quick and you'll get it. After that, select your captain and sidekicks as
normal (You will take turns selecting the captain - the lowest ranked goes
first!) and you're ready to start the game!
You will not be rewarded with points or get any visible wins or losses in your
stats from a Friendly match.
Questions and answers:
"My friend's not answering my invite!"
- Well, either it's just taking very long for the game to react to his/her
response, or this friend of yours has left the game on and forgotten it. Or
there could be some lag issues that make it look like he/she is online, but
actually isn't...
When you get an invite
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
When this happens, you can accept it, accept it and bring a guest, or decline
it. You can also choose to preview options and see what rules, cheats and
stadium that's chosen - if you don't like it, you can decline. From this point
on, everything is like explained above.
____________

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Ranked matches are matches against complete strangers. What's different from
Friendly matches is that they DO give you points for winning (and losing) and
your wins and losses in ranked WILL be viewable.
When you find an opponent, the first thing you will se (before being able to
see their name, Mii, wins, losses and points), is the connection quality, as
described under "Friendly". If you accept, you will see a screen showing your
opponent's name and stats, and will shortly be taken to the character select
screen (As with Friendly, the lowest ranked gets to choose first). Note that
you have limited time to select characters! When that's done, you'll be taken
back to the previous screen.
Soon, the match will start. The stadium is selected ranomly and it will always
be a best of three match with 3 minutes for each match.
The following point system is used:
- 10 points for a win
- 1 points for a loss
- 1 point for each goal scored
Questions and answers:
"Somebody is using cheap tactics agaist me - what do I do?"
- Why don't you check out General Tactics [gent], maybe a strategy for
countering that tactic (Which shouldn't be considered cheap unless they're
used constantly!) is there?
"Connection lost - what happened?"
- Most likely, your opponent disconnected (by turning off his Wii), which he
most likely did because he didn't win. That's just what some jerks do, we'll
all have to live with it.

Click here and the first thing on the screen that appears is your friend code.
You need to give this to people so that they can register you as a friend and
play Friendly games with you. To add someone as a friend, click "ADD FRIEND"
and input their 12-digit friend code (Which is NOT the same as the friend code
of the Wii message board).
Here, you can also see who's online, and their stats. "CONNECTING" means that
you have added them, but they haven't added you. "NOT CONNECTED" means that
you have added them and vice versa, but they are not online. "AVAILABLE" and
"BUSY" shouldn't need any description...
To delete a friend, simply select their name and answer yes to the question.

which means that it zooms in to the spot where the interesting stuff happens,
or Static, which means that it still follows the players, but doesn't zoom. You
can also choose a level from 1 to 5 - it's unlcear what this means, but it
seems to be the level of zoom.
