****************************************************************************
So you want to be a frontman of a band? Excellent choice! In here I'll teach
how to be a smashing success on the microphone.
-------------------
Getting a Microphone
-------------------
Any and I mean ANY USB microphone will work.
-------------------
Pitch
-------------------
Starting on Easy gives you a large range, Medium and Hard aren't drastically
from each other, while Expert is a thin line. Eventually Expert will become
second nature but starting here will give you a head start!
-------------------
Tone deaf
-------------------
Let's get this out of the way. If you're tone deaf drop the mic now.
As far as I can tell you can't sing, sorry.
-------------------
More Pitch tips
-------------------
Singing on Easy, like I said gives you a wide range for you to mess with.
So it's perfect to learn the pitches of the songs.
Medium can also do this if you're feeling gutsy.
Moving on to Hard isn't that different from Medium but it's still smaller.
I do NOT reccomend using Hard to learn pitches.
Once you learn the general pitches you should be good.
****************************************************************************
3.0 Learning the Guitar
****************************************************************************
So I heard you wanted to be a guitar hero. If that is the case, then go play
guitar hero but if you want to learn guitar on rock Band, then you came to
the right place. Here, I'll show you the tips and trick to learning the guitar
and becoming an expert player in no time.
=============================
Tips for Beginners
=============================
-------------------
Getting a guitar
-------------------
Alright, before you even start playing Rock Band 2, you are going to need
a guitar. If you own this game on the Xbox 360, then I recommend getting
the Guitar Hero's 2 X-plorer guitar. The GH3's Les Paul and the RB 2's
Fender Stratocaster are also great choices and I recommend both
of them if you have the extra money to spend.
If you own Rock Band 2 on the PS2, then you are pretty much stuck
with the Fender Stratocaster and if you own Rock Band 2 on the PS3 or wii,
then you are allow to use your the Guitar Hero World Tour and
Guitar Hero 3 guitar and drumset.
--------------------
Learning the buttons
--------------------
Alright, now that you have your guitar, you have to learn the buttons.
Every guitar has 5 Fret buttons. When you click one, the button will
light up on the screen. When a note comes down your way, you then use
the strum bar while holding down the fret button to play the note.
Pretty simple. At the easy level, all you need to know is Green, Red,
and yellow and were they are placed on your guitar. Blue and Orange will
come later.
=============================
Tips for Intermediate players.
=============================
--------------------
Learn the blue button
--------------------
Now you are ready to step into a new level. Put your pinky on
the blue fret button. Thats it. Thats all you need to do.
---------------------------------------
Learning the hammer on/pull off system.
---------------------------------------
Normally, you won't need to know this until you start playing
on hard but you might want to learn it early. Hammer on and pulls off
are struming one note with then hitting the rest with just the fret button.
No struming what so ever.
But Sora and Chem, how do we know when to do this?
While hitting notes, you will see a smaller looking note. Make sure to strum
the note that comes before the smaller note and then hit the fret button at
the same time the note crosses the line. On medium and hard, this notes
normally come in green, red, and yellow or red, yellow, and blue.
---------------------------------------
shifting fingers
---------------------------------------
Alright, most Rock Band and Guitar Hero expert players know to practice this
early in their RB/GH career. Side your hand down by one fret button so now
the pinky finger is hitting orange. Then, whenever a green note comes out,
move your hand hit to hit that green note and then go back down. Trust me,
when you move on to hard and expert, you will thank me.
=============================
Tips for Advanced players.
=============================
Good job on getting to hard, now the real fun begins.
--------------------
Learn the orange button.
--------------------
Let me say this right now, you will hate the orange button. You will hate
it so much but you know what, it will make you an overall, better player.
Okay, remember when I said to put your pinky finger on orange, this is why.
You will now have to use the orange button. Do what I said before and you
will be fine but be ready to start failing songs at random due to the
orange button.
---------------------
Alt Strumming
---------------------
I bet you are surprised when people are able to hit long streams of one color
so fast. Well, doing this is not hard at all. The techinque we all use is
called alt strumming. Its when you strum up and down in a certain rhythm that
changes from song to song. You won't be able to down strum a huge stream of
one color notes or really fast notes. You will have to start learning this
or else you won't stand a chance on expert. The best way to use this is
practice mode since you won't have to worry about failing if you alt strum
too fast or too slow.
---------------------
Practice mode
---------------------
Its there for a reason guys. Most people won't need it until hard
and expert but you will need it to learn some of the harder songs
in this game.
If you have trouble with a song, use practice mode before you email us.
--------------------
Get use to fast notes
--------------------
Just get use to them, get use to your hand hurting like hell after
a couple of songs. This is normal, it happens to everyone that starts playing
on hard and expert.
=============================
Tips for Expert players.
=============================
If you can play expert, congrats. You are better then almost 50% of people
that even play Rock Band as not everyone can play on expert.
---------------------
Practice mode
---------------------
We said it once, and we will say it again. USE PRACTICE MODE. Trust us!
------------------------------------
Master the hammer on/pull off system
------------------------------------
Oh yes, you need to master this system. Don't master it, don't even try
playing on expert. Simple as that.
--------------------------------
Use overdrive only when you need to.
--------------------------------
You are going to need overdrive to save you on some songs
(Green grass and High Tides anyone?).
Unless you know you can beat that song without overdrive, save it
for moments when you are going to fail. Don't be stupid, plan
ahead. If you know there is a solo section you are going to get killed
on, save your overdrive for that section alone.
---------------------------------
Play online
---------------------------------
You should have started this a long time ago but anyways,
play online with friends that can also play on expert. Sometimes,
under pressure of your team mates, you will do better on a song since
if you fail, then the band can also fail.
--------------------------------
Plan your Overdrive paths
--------------------------------
Now, most people on expert can master a couple of songs but no
matter what they do, they can't get to the top of the leaderboard even with
an FC and gold stars. Most of the time, its because you didn't plan
your over drive path correctly.
First off, before going into overdrive,
make sure you are at 4x so you get the most points, now find a segment
in the song that has a lot of notes and you can get the most out of your
overdrive. Also, if you are playing with more then one person, make sure
to get the unison bonuses so that you can gain extra over drive.
To find out more about using over drive in the correct section of the song,
you can check out scorehero.com.
----------------------------
Be ready to fail
----------------------------
You are going to fail some songs on expert, this is just a common fact.
Almost every expert Rock Band and Guitar hero player including Chemicalinxs
and I can tell you that there is going to be at least one song that you will
have a personal vendetta with. You will just hate the song because its near
impossible and thats also a huge moment when most players quit because
why play something that is near unbeatable right? Well, don't quit, one day
you will surprise yourself and finish that song that annoy you like crazy.
Remember, I'm never gonna give you up so don't give yourself up.
(Yeah, we did a Rick Astley reference).
-------------------------------------------------
Squeezing
-------------------------------------------------
This is one of the most advanced techniques in the game.
First off, if you can't even FC songs then don't even bother learning how to
this technique. Second, if you have an X-plorer, I recommend upgrading
to any of the other guitars on the xbox360 because the select button
is too small for some people but if you are able to squeeze with it,
then by all means, do it.
Now, first off, squeezing is when you try to get the most
points you can get from using your overdrive in certain segments.
To do this, you need to learn the best path or better known as the optimal
path. Once you learn the optimal path, you then need to be able to
activate overdrive just as a note passes by, and strum it.
At the end of the overdrive segment, make sure to hit the last note
about a second or less before it comes. It will allow you to squeeze
in some points. Do this for every single overdrive segment in a song
and your overall FC score will be higher then any other person on the
leaderboards.
Scorehero.com is the best website for learning what the optimal
path is for a song.
-------------------------------------------------
Be ready for the fact that people around you suck
-------------------------------------------------
By the time you get to expert, you better start living with that fact that
your friends could suck at Rock Band 2. Be ready for people to start
messing with you telling you go pick up a real guitar and that even
elitist who play Rock Band like crazy to still tell you that you suck.
Don't mind these people because you are playing rock Band for one reason,
TO HAVE FUN! People that normally say this suck at Rock Band.
IN OTHER WORDS, have fun, even with people that suck and don't get mad at
the people that hate you for being this good at Rock Band 2.
****************************************************************************
4.0 Learning the drums
****************************************************************************
If you've played Rock Band 1 then you should know how to at least play on
Medium. If you're new to the game then we'll help you get from Easy to
Expert in no time (Well maybe at least Hard).
=============================
Tips for Beginners
=============================
-------------------
Getting a Drum Kit
-------------------
You're pretty much stuck with the Rock Band drums, I don't suggest the
Guitar Hero: World Tour drums and until we have a better sense of it's
durability.
-------------------
Beginner Tips
-------------------
On Easy most of the drum track will exclude the bass pedal.
You'll still get it but to a VERY minimal degree.
When you get a feel for the drum kit you should be able to do great on easy,
when it gets too easy time to switch to Medium.
Tip given by megamanz4:
As a general note for drummers having issues with maintaining a
combo coming OUT of a fill, the most frequently missed note (for me)
is the bass kick, and that's because it's easy to neglect the bass pedal
altogether during fills. The Fill Trainer in RB2 will fix this partially,
but RB1 vets will end up falling back to old habits. USE THE BASS DRUM
IN YOUR FILLS. It helps more than it might seem, especially when the kick
bass is the same pattern over and over.
-------------------
Intermediate Tips
-------------------
Medium introduces more notes and makes it feel a little more like your
drumming. Bass pedal is partially present and the two final tiers are more
difficult.
Again knowing the layout of the drum kit will improve your
chances of success. Pad notes and bass pedal are normally put
together except in certain cases
R---------G

Or
R G
-------------
R---------G
-------------------
Advanced Tips
-------------------
Hard and Expert are the point of crazyness. It has a
better sense of actually playing drums.
Hand and feet separation are crucial
and are heavily shown on songs like Dead on Arrival or
Detroit Rock City. Notes are normally like this:
R G
------B----
Y
-----------
R G
-----------
When you manage to separate your hand movements and feet movement.
Drums become more easier. You'll also get more triple bass and double bass
-----------
R--------G
-----------
Hard mimics the actual song as closely as possible. With Expert
virtually mimicking the song as well as four pads and a bass pedal can.
****************************************************************************
4.5 General tips
****************************************************************************
These are general tips normally given by other users.
========================
Stuck on a song?
========================
Given by: sbddsl@swbell.net
If you're stuck on a song in Expert, play it in Hard. If you're stuck on a
song in Hard, try it in Medium. If you're stuck on a song in Medium, well,
practice. The Easy mode is too easy in most cases and isn't a good
representation of what you'll eventually be up against. However,
the idea here is that you get used to the entire song, not that one part where
you keep failing.
Once you know the song start to finish, it's easier to
anticipate where the trouble spots are for you, and you can save up
Overdrive to get through it at more difficult levels.
A perfect example of this is Master Exploder by Tenacious D.
The song is annoying and rather difficult, but drop down to Hard and
it's pretty easy.

Song Type: Master Recording.
First Appearance: Rock Band 2
Tips on Guitar:
Its a middle tier song. Not hard but not too easy. You should
have no problems with this song on guitar.
Tips on Bass:
Not hard to pass at all. Cool song on bass but and pretty
basic. You can downstrum this whole thing on bass and you will
be fine.
Tips on Drums:
Tips on Vocals:

Guitar: 108,522
Bass: 156,591

5B. Ace of Spades 08
=============================
Artist: Motorhead
Band: Tier 6
Guitar: Tier 6
Drums: Tier 7
Vocals: Tier 4
Bass: Tier 7
---
Song Type: Master Recording.
First Appearance: Rock Band 2
Tips on Guitar:
Its not hard to pass at all. Now if you want to 5 star this song, that is
a whole different story. It has a lot of alt strumming moments with
the green fret button so be careful on that. Beside that, its
no where near impossible.
Tips on Bass:
You better start loving Yellow, blue and orange fret buttons because that
is what you are going to be using on this song. Be ready for some hammer on/
pull off moments. This song can be pretty hard but its not really tier seven
on bass, more like teir six but beside those hammer on moments, you just
have to fast about changing fret buttons. Thats it really.
Tips on Drums:
Tips on Vocals:
--------------------
Gold Star Cutoffs
--------------------
Guitar: 103,861
Bass: 197,495
Drums: 167,525
Vocals: 82,973
=============================
5C. Alabama Getaway
=============================
Artist: The Grateful Dead
Band: Tier 5
Guitar: Tier 6
Drums: Tier 5
Vocals: Tier 6
Bass: Tier 2
---
Song Type: Master Recording.
First Appearance: Rock Band 2
Tips on Guitar:
This song starts on HOs/POs then switches between those and chords.
The first solo is not really that hard to pass, you will be fine there.
It will then go back to chords and HOs/POs. The second solo might seem a
little bit harder but its not. You don't need to worry about failing
after the second solo if you can do HOs/POs.
Tips on Bass:
Again, you will be doing some HOs/POs buts its not as hard as guitar
since you won't be hitting any chords but again, you will be doing HOs/POs
like crazy on bass. You shouldn't have too much trouble with this song
on bass.
Tips on Drums:
Tips on Vocals: Haha! This song is a joke, if you can hold any kind of pitch,
this will be an easy FC
--------------------
Gold Star Cutoffs

5D. Alex Chilton
=============================
Artist: The Replacements
Band: Tier 4
Guitar: Tier 4
Drums: Tier 5
Vocals: Tier 3
Bass: Tier 5
---
Song Type: Master Recording.
First Appearance: Rock Band 2
Tips on Guitar:
Learn to switch frets really fast because this song is full of
chords. As long as you can strum fast enough and get pass those three chord
notes and the solo, you will be fine.
Tips on Bass:
This song is just a little bit harder on bass then on guitar and
the only reason for that is the fact that there are randomly place notes
in some areas that will throw you off from getting a gold star or an FC.
Besides that, you are down strumming a lot on this song, nothing too hard
for an normal expert player.
Tips on Drums:
Tips on Vocals:

Gold Star Cutoffs
--------------------
Guitar: 149,095
Bass: 141,309

5E. Alive
=============================
Artist: Pearl Jam
Band: Tier 4
Guitar: Tier 4
Drums: Tier 4
Vocals: Tier 4
Bass: Tier 4
---
Song Type: Master Recording.
First Appearance: Rock Band 2
Tips on Guitar:
Tier 4 on everything lol.Anyways, guitar is pretty simple.
You just need to be quick on tapping the fret buttons but
there are a couple of three chord notes that can throw you off
so watch for that around the middle of the song. That and the
solo. That can really mess you up but it ends with a big rock ending
so thats something cool.
Tips on Bass:
You will start off bu just hitting three note then going into a hold note.
This will last for about for about a min or two. During this portion
of the song, you will also get a couple three chord notes. It will then
start to mix up on you but nothing that will make you fail.
Tips on Drums:
Tips on Vocals:

5F. Almost Easy
=============================
Artist: Avenged Sevenfold
Band: Tier 7
Guitar: Tier 6
Drums: Tier 6
Vocals: Tier 6
Bass: Tier 6
---
Song Type: Master Recording.
First Appearance: Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
Tips on Guitar:
This song is hard. Be careful going into this on guitar because
you will have to do a lot of alt sturmming to pass this. The best tip
I can give you is to practice this song on guitar because its just a
matter of how fast you are on pressing the fret buttons.
The solo can be killer if you can't do qucik HOs/POs in a snake style.
Good luck is the second best thing we can say to you on this song.
Tips on Bass:
Oh god, alt strumming to no end. This is just as hard on bass
as it is on guitar. The reason for this is that the note chart looks
about the same as guitar with a couple of differences like you won't
be playing chords and you will be switching frets at different times.
Again you have to practice this song but you won't be pulling out
your hair on this song. Save that for songs like Visions.
Tips on Drums:
Tips on Vocals:

Gold Star Cutoffs
--------------------
Guitar: 175,821
Bass: 206,445
Drums: 201,630
Vocals: 173,575

5G. American Woman
=============================
Artist: The Guess Who
Band: Tier 3
Guitar: Tier 2
Drums: Tier 5
Vocals: Tier 4
Bass: Tier 2
---
Song Type: Master Recording.
First Appearance: Rock Band 2
Tips on Guitar:
Do you really need help with this song. All you need to know
is to switch fret buttons at a high speed. That and you
need to learn how to pull off quick HOs/POs. Thats it really.
Tips on Bass:
HOs/POs, thats what you really need to learn about this song on bass.
That, and hitting the fret button.
Tips on Drums:
Tips on Vocals:
--------------------
Gold Star Cutoffs
--------------------
Guitar: 139,877
Bass: 144,815
Drums: 173,424
Vocals: 237,320

5H. Any Way You Want It
=============================
Artist: Journey
Band: Tier 5
Guitar: Tier 5
Drums: Tier 4
Vocals: Tier 6
Bass: Tier 5
---
Song Type: Master Recording.
First Appearance: Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
Tips on Guitar:
The solo. That will mess you up from getting a 5 star on this song.
If you can pass the solo, then you can five star this song on guitar.
Tips on Bass:
This is tier 5. lol wut. Honestly, Its easy to five star this song
on bass. Its so freakin basic but the song is still awesome. No tips
here.
Tips on Drums:
Tips on Vocals:
Obviously this is gonna be a hit to sing, and despite it's Tier 6 vocal
rating don't be discouraged! Singing is super easy, though
if any difficulty should arrise, it'll probably be the breakdown during
the solo.
--------------------
Gold Star Cutoffs

Guitar: 104,541
Bass: 115,505
Drums: 146,826

5I. Aqualung
=============================
Artist: Jethro Tull
Band: Tier 6
Guitar: Tier 4
Drums: Tier 6
Vocals: Tier 5
Bass: Tier 6
---
Song Type: Master Recording.
First Appearance: Rock Band 2
Tips on Guitar:
It starts out the same on guitar and bass but for guitar,
it gets easier. Its your average Rock Band song, learn how
to play your chord notes and also learn to pull off a fret button
really fast to hit a note.
Tips on Bass:
You hit a lot of single notes. Thats all you need to know because this
song is not really hard on bass. I don't really see why they would rate
this on tier 6 because its not really that hard on bass.
Tips on Drums:
Tips on Vocals:
--------------------
Gold Star Cutoffs
--------------------
Guitar: 240,935
Bass: 156,035
Drums: 222,222

Artist: Joan Jett
Band: Tier 5
Guitar: Tier 3
Drums: Tier 6
Vocals: Tier 5
Bass: Tier 3
---
Song Type: Master Recording.
First Appearance: Rock Band 2
Tips on Guitar:
There are a lot of chords in this song. About 90%
of this song is full of chords so watch out for that. The solo is also
pretty easy to pass. The only problem you will have with this song is
that the note chart goes pretty fast which forces you to alt strum but
nothing an average player can't handle.
Tips on Bass:
Its your normal bass song, nothing really special about this song on bass.
You better pass this song on bass or else you might have a bad reputation.

Tips on Guitar:
Smashing through the boundaries. Lunacy has found me. Cannot stop the Battery.
This song is pure awesome but its hard. For guitar, the best tips I can give
you is too make to alt strum the green notes and then down strum the chords
if you can. If not, alt strum the whole thing. Save overdrive for the solos
and the section that comes after the solos because the section where you need
to strum green and then change between yellow and blue can kill you just as
fast as the solo.

Artist: Steely Dan
Band: Tier 7
Guitar: Tier 7

Song Type: Master Recording.
First Appearance: Rock Band 2
Tips on Guitar:
There are two thing that you really need to watch out for on this song, first,
the solo. The end solo can destory you. Second, the Hammer on/Pull off chords.
Yeah, its one of RB 2 new feature. Yeah beside that, just make sure you
practice this song and you should beat it without failing at the end.
Tips on Bass:
This is so not tier seven. Don't be scared by the tier 7 because it has some
pretty simple Hammer on/Pull offs and the end had you just strumming to
chords. If you can get into the beat of hitting the HO/PO, then this should
be easy.
Tips on Drums:
Tips on Vocals:
Bleh, great to sing but the during the solos the vocalist get an unhealthy
dose of percussion fests, it's an incredible catchy song with it's only
downside are the sea of percussion notes, like any Tier 2 song this
shouldn't be too hard to master.

Guitar: Tier 6

Song Type: Master Recording.
First Appearance: Guitar Hero II
Tips on Guitar:
Carry on my wayward son is pretty fun on guitar. Guitar
and bass really start the same but there are a ton of
solo moments that will mess you up. Same goes for hammerons
and pulloffs parts and there are a ton of them in this song
but its still awesome to play on guitar and bass. Watch
out for the solos moments and your hammeron/pulloff notes.
Tips on Bass:
Okay, its like playing the song on guitar, no difference
really. We think playing this song on guitar is harder then on
bass. Make sure to take my guitar tips because thoser same tips
will help you on bass.

Tips on Guitar:
Wow, is this song hard, YES but is it passable?
Yeah. Alt strumming becomes your best friend here.
Remember, most notes are Green then chord of green/yellow
then green, etc then the same thing is done with red and blue
and blue and orange. You then will go into slow moments
but thats the only thing the song really does. As long as
you alt strum, you will fine.
Tips on Bass:
It has a really easy beginning but then turns into alt strumming.
When you see the sea of one color notes come at you, that is your time to fill
up your meter so that you won't fail where it really matters. Its not that
hard to pass if you are use to harder stuff on bass.

Yeah, its chords, alt strum the chords that go on forever and downstrum the
chords that are not in a big group lined up. You will understand when
you play the song.
By the way, its a pretty awesome song.
Tips on Bass:
Bass on give it all has a ton of note changes at moderate speeds.
Be careful because if you don't alt strum it correctly, you will mess
up. Make sure to hold the highest fret button when changing buttons

First Appearance: Rock Band 2
Tips on Guitar:
First off, the song is tier 6 for a reason. The main riff's chords
will mess you up and the solo is unforgiving when it comes to trying
to FC the song. Once you get the main riff and the solo, you might be
able to FC the song but remember, there are a lot of fast alt strumming
segments. When I mean fast, I mean like its almost breaks the limit at how
fast you can sturm the strum bar.
Tips on Bass:
Tips on Drums:
Tips on Vocals:
Similar to many songs with loooooooong solos the vocalist gets
treated to a percussion fest during the aformentioned solo.
The notes only go up by like 1% everytime you hit one,
it just takes forever, but the song is incredibly easy to sing.

Solos are so hard that you will have problems alt strumming.
You have like 40 seconds breaks at two points during the song and
the main riff is pretty boring to play overall. Now, while this song on
guitar might be lame, playing it as a full band can make an epic experience.
Remember, guitar is just a pain in the ass to play.
Tips on Bass:
Tips on Drums:
Tips on Vocals:
This song essentially is the epitome of boring vocals, 2/3's of the song
is percussion and if we wanted to hit something we'd be playing drums
(which isn't that better). I suppose the only difficult part is staying
interested.

Tips on Guitar:
Guitar does nothing for the first 15 seconds, then
you get some easy chords. Only hard part you need to worth about is
the triple chords, and the part that comes afterwards where you alt strum
a group of green notes, then you alt strum a group of red notes. Nothing in
this song should really make you fail but you might want to practice
those green/orange chords that you have to do, that and the solo, which again,
is just a ton of alt strumming.

First Appearance: Rock Band 2
Tips on Guitar:
First off, don't even try this song on expert if you just
started playing Rock Band 2. This is the hardest song in the game and it
shows. Okay, the first section has a grip load of hammer on, if you have some
experience in rock Band or guitar hero, you can pass that part. Then the next
section will have you playing a bunch of red notes that you will be forced to
alt strum. You then go back to repeating the intro. It then gets a little bit
easier but it will keep on reading the same notes for about 3 minutes but
sometimes, with different fret buttons.
You will then get into the solo which
will start you off with hammer ons and pull offs. This section can kill you
if you don't know how to snake your hand across the fret buttons. You will
then get a little break of doing easy fret notes. Then it goes back to the way
the intro was like but now it becomes more tricky.
Hammer on and pull off around 50% of the first solo can be tricky as hell.
Keep on alt strumming at all costs. After the solo, you will go back to the
hititng notes like the first two section so a huge tip here is too master
the first two main sections if you want to pass the song. Once you get into
the second solo, your hands will hurt because by now, your tired but this solo
is fast and you will go onto easier chord notes. Ending on Green and Yellow.
If you pass this with an Fc then you are a Rock Band god!
Remember, you will be playing the intro notes a lot in the song
so master that and good luck.
Tips on Bass:
Do you love alt strumming. Yeah, this song has a lot of it on Bass.
Honestly, unlike guitar, there is not many tips I need to give on Bass.
Its easier but its still a hard song overall.
Tips on Drums:
The only part to actually fear is the drum intro and outro,
most of the song is triple bass over and over again.
There's also a drum roll that comes up twice in the song where
it speeds up and slows down.
Tips on Vocals:
Similar to Panic Attack, Painkiller isn't that hard to sing.
Of course the screechy vocals can be hard to find a pitch in but
once you find it you can get through it.
Personally I use similar screechy vocals to find the pitch.
The only difficult parts are the incredibly long screams through
out the song and it's hard to hold it and find a pitch.

Tips on Guitar:
Honestly, this rivals Painkiller for hardest Rock Band 2 disc song.
If you can beat Painkiller, then you can beat Panic Attack because
its kind of the same as Painkiller but easier. Of course, this is just
our opinion.
Anyways, Panic Attack has one main segment that messes up everyone.
Tips on Bass:
This song is harder on Bass then guitar. Yeah, this is guitar's Painkiller.
You need to alt strum like crazy in some parts to pass this on Bass and its
the hardest song on Bass so don't take it lightly.
Tips on Drums:
Yuck, double bass all over the song.
In the intro is already grueling enough.
When you get through the intro, it becomes Painkiller.
It slows down (if you can call it that) but it still presents a challenge.
During the solo the bass pedal is pumped up so be weary of that.
The outro is essentially the intro.
So beware and take caution.
Tips on Vocals:
Don't be fooled by the Tier 6 vocals.
Dream Theater is anything but difficult on the mic.
If you can match the pitch early you'll do fine

There are two parts to this song. The first half of part 1 is pretty easy
until you get up to the solo. Part two of the song on the other hand, not so
much. It has a really tricky beat that will throw you off quickly and keep you
that way and to had more pain to the song, the second part of the song has two
hard ass solos. The thrid solo can kill you pretty quickly so saving overdrive
is a must. Good Luck!

The main riff will destory you if you can't strum it correctly. Practice
makes perfect in this case. The solo on the other hand are easy
when compared to the main riff. The first solo is just a bunch of
HO/POs and the second solo is about the same as the first, just longer
and with some more chords.
If you are really worried about 5 starring this song, just
do really good on the solos. Those solos really give you a ton of
bonus points. If you Fc the second solo, you will get 43,500 bonus
points. Yes, 43k.

Believe it or not, this song is pretty fun to play on guitar. Only problem is
that the song length might be a little bit too long for some people.
Anyways, for the first minute, its really slow chords then it starts changing
up and thats when the song really shines. You start going between
fast two note chords, three note chords, and single notes with HO/POs. You
will need to alt strum a good part of the song if you ever want a combo
going.
Once you get into the beat of the song, its a blast to play.
Tips on Bass:
The bass is really easy compared to guitar, just a bunch of sustains with
some of single notes.

Tips on Guitar:
You are going to be alt strumming for the first 30 seconds, then a little
break where it becomes easy then you some more alt strumming and then it
repeats until the end of the song and yes, the solo is easy.
Once you are able to keep a combo on the alt strumming segments, the 5 star
is yours. Its really fun song to play in my opinion.

Tips on Guitar:
I was finally able to pass this song on expert guitar.
First tip, make sure to get overdrive before the huge zigzag segment
and only use it when needed. After that segment, you should be able
to get a note streak going for the rest of the song but beware,
there are many more zig-zags that can kill you so only use overdrive
if you need it that badly.

harder on bass.
Honestly, alt strum your ass off and you will be fine.

overdrive.

9.0 Quickplay
****************************************************************************
Quickplay is the first option you are given when you get into Rock Band 2.
This mode is perfect if you just want to pick up your guitar, drums, or mic
and just jam with your friends. solo quickplay just allows you to pick
a song and difficulty level while Band quickplay also allows you to select
the character you made in Tour mode.
=============================
9.1 Tug of War
=============================
Think face off in the Guitar hero games. You and your opponent
play different sections of the song and the person that doesn't
miss as many notes wins. This mode can be played on xbox live.
=============================
9.2 Score Duel
=============================
Score duel is like pro face off in the guitar hero games. Both you
and your opponent play a song on the same instrument from the start of the
song to the end. The player with more points wins. This mode can be played
on Xbox live.
****************************************************************************
10.0 Tour
****************************************************************************
Tour mode is divided into two main sections, Online Tour, and Local tour.
Online Tour will allow you to play Band world tour mode with your friends
over Xbox live/PSN/Nintendo wifi connection.
Local tour on the other hand is the new main single player mode of this game
which was combined with the multiplayer mode from Rock Band 1.
=============================
10.1 Band World Tour
=============================
In band world tour, you start a band, then rock the world.
Make a character and start playing at gigs to gain stars
to gain more fans and become the biggest band in the world.
The best thing about this upgraded world tour is that you can
now play by yourself and your character can be used on guitar,
drums, and microphone. No need to make new characters just
for drums or playing vocals.
=============================
10.2 Tour Challenges
=============================
If you get sick of the normal world tour, why not
try the new tour challenge mode. In tour challenge, you
can play premade challenges based on your setlist at the time.
The awesome thing about this mode is that if you own three DLC songs by the
same artist or RB1 songs then they
get added into the challenge mode.
This is also the fastest way to unlock songs so you might want
to check it out.
Tiers challenges does not include DLC chllenges.

15.0 Frequently asked questions
****************************************************************************
These questions will be broken down into sections so you won't be searching
forever.
=============================
Main questions
=============================
Q: What is Rock Band 2?
A: A music video game made by Harmonix for the Xbox 360, Playstation 2,
Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii.
Q: I can't find any info on what I need help on
A: Send us an email and we'll be sure to include
it in a future update if it has noted importance.
Q: Can we reach you by your gamertags or PSN IDs?
A: Yes. sora250 XBL GT and PSN: Darksora250
while for chemicalinxs Gamertag: FallOut Phoenix
Q: Are all the disc songs Masters?
A: Yes
Q: How many songs are in this game?
A: 84 songs
Q: How do I beat (Insert song here)?
A: Read our tips. If you we don't have tips for the song you are looking
for then all I can really tell you is good luck because we don't have
every single DLC the game has. Ask the Gamefaqs rock Band 2 board if
you really need help.
Q: This FAQ sucks!
A: That's not a question.
Q: How do I unlock certain songs?
A: Play online with friends or play the challange mode
or play band world tour by yourself or with friends.
Q: Why didn't you answer our emails?
A: Chemicalinxs and I are busy people. We both go to high school. I'm
a sophomore with Advanced classes and he is a senior. We can't stay on
the computer 24/7 to answer your emails. Please forgive us but our free
time goes into this FAQ and of course, living life.
Q: Should I download this DLC Track?
A: We are not music gods, we don't know what kind of music
you like but if you tell us, we might be able to come up with
some songs to download.
Q: How much does the Full Rock Band 2 bundle cost?
A: $189.99
Q: How do you export Rock Band 1 songs into RB2?
A: First off, you need to be connected to Xbox live or PSN and
have 400 MSP or $5 on PSN. Once you have that done, put in
your Rock Band 1 disc into your system and go into the Rock Band 1
main menu. Once there, go into the option section and click export
songs. It will ask you to pay for the export key to transfer
the songs to your HDD. Once that is done, the game will export the songs
and you can play them on Rock Band 2. Also, Run to the Hills, Enter Sandman
and Paranoid are not included in the export. Licensing issues are the reason
why they were not included but for 5 bucks, 55 songs is a great deal.
You can NOT transfer songs on the Wii/PS2 versions
Q: Will you guys add DLC in a future update?
A: Not sure.
=============================
Endless Setlist Questions
=============================
Q: Is there a way to cheat the Bladder of Steel Award achievement?
A: No, any sort of pausing voids the achievement, though there are songs
where you can take breaks.
Q: How long does this take?
A: The Endless Setlist 2 steals 6 hours and 20 minutes of your life.
Q: Can you cheat the endless setlist and get the Plat Icons?
A: No. Its impossible since Harmonix disable saving with no fail
and if you don't save before leaving Band World Tour, your screwed.
=============================
Instruments
=============================
Q: Can I use my GHWT, GH 3 or GH 2 Xbox 360 guitar on Rock Band 2?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I use my PS3 Guitar Hero World Tour drums and guitar on RB2?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I use my Rock Revolution Drums on Rock Band 2 and GH WT?
A: Yes but we don't recommend this game. It sucks. Trust us!
Q: Can I use my PS2 GH 1-3 and WT guitars or drums on Rock Band 2?
A: For now, we know that none of the GH stuff can work with Rock Band 2.
Q: How about my GH 3 or GHWT Wii guitar and drums?
A: Yes. You are able to use both guitars and the drum set on Rock Band 2
but you can not use the Rock Band 2 stuff (besides mic) on Guitar Hero
World Tour.
q: How about this other guitar made by another company?
A: Maybe but we won't recommend getting guitars made by other companies.
Q: Can I use my Rock Band 1 instruments with Rock Band 2?
A: Yes
Q: How much does the Rock Band 2 drums cost?
A: $89.99
Q: How much does the Rock Band 2 Guitar cost?
A: $69.99
Q: Are the Rock Band 2 cymbals worth the 40 extra dollars?
A: If you really want to change the way you play the drum set, then
yeah but I wouldn't recommend it if you are trying to FC songs on drums
since they will double hit every once in a while.
Q: Does the Mics from RB 1 and GHWT work in RB2?
A: Yes, since the mics don't have any other wiring other than the USB stuff,
it's cross compatible with all systems
