Question from Zeldafan77

What is the best strategy for the Library Chess Champion?

I've beaten the other two but I am having troubles beating the one in the LIbrary. Someone suggested going to chess sites and mimicing your opponets moves but the computer uses castilng (switching King and Rook/Castle) but the game does not let you do that. I am playing the Wii version but I doubt that makes any difference. Can someone PLEASE help me? It's the only thing left for me to do in the game to get 100%.

Answer

Strictly speaking, there's probably no sure-fire strategy... this IS chess, after all. I can, however, tell you that you ARE able to do Castling. Just move the Knight and Bishop that are between the King and Kingside Rook and, as long as neither the King nor Rook have been moved, you can move the King TWO spaces to the right, triggering Castling.

This game does let you castle, you've probably moved your king or the rook you're trying to castle with or are doing it incorrectly in some other way.
There is no absolute strategy against the computer except to practice and pay very close attention to each other's moves and how they could play out in the next turns. As many have said, "play 3 turns ahead" and plan it out with each move somebody makes.
However, I have noticed that it is nowhere near as hard if you take away your opponent's queen, since they often tend to use it to take many pieces.
