Asked on: 8/4 7:20PMCan anyone tell me how to get all the randomly dropped Pop-Up Cards? I checked the FAQ on IGN but it wasn't complete. If you can't remember exactly where you got all the cards can you at least tell me what types of monsters drop specific types of cards or which dungeons don't drop cards? I assume all the special dungeons don't drop cards? Also are there any better strategies to find cards other than killing monsters?
I've gotten cards from monsters that reference the types of cards. I've gotten Goblin cards from Goblins, Tonberry cards from Tonberries, Cactaur cards from Cactaurs, etc. I've also gotten Bahamut cards from Bahamut, and I may have gotten cards that don't exactly match up with the right enemy. I bet every monster has multiple possible card drops.
As far as I know, the cards won from using phrases, opening mail, and playing the mini-games will always end up being the same card every time. Therefore, most of the other cards need to be picked up from monsters.
I know for a fact that I've seen a card drop in a special dungeon, but I can't recall which one it was.

statusYou may try looking in the special dungeons (if you've finished the game) to try to get some pop-up duel cards, and some cards can also be obtained from dungeon bosses
I got a couple of card drops by stealing instead of waiting for them to drop, such as an efreet card I stole from a fire elemental.
