Excite Truck

"Insane Arcade Action!"

Excite Truck, sadly, is one of the less-noticed games for the Wii. However, it provides an experience not to be missed on any circumstances.

GAMEPLAY

The gameplay is awesome. From the moment you pick up the Wii Remote you feel totally in control of your truck. Just a tilt to the side and you rip around corners. The touch of a button and you're blasting across changing landscapes. Run through an icon to create enormous jumps that send you high above a variety of landscapes.

When it comes to multi player, Excite Truck has some of the best currently on the Wii. You really get into it as you smash the other racers and get huge amounts of air.

This game provides lots to do with lifetime achievements. As you perform stunts, you get stars based on how well you do them. If you get five stars, it's recorded on your lifetime achievements. Getting enough lets you unlock new vehicles, giving you LOTS to do.

GRAPHICS

This game is beautiful! You will be stunned by every environment, by the detailed textures, and the great lighting effects. There isn't much to say about the graphics except to express how good they look.

SOUND

While playing you're treated to some great rock tunes that really get you into the races. The sound effects are decent, not amazing. When the trucks rev up and get ready to race, you will feel the rumble and rush. When you crash through trees you will feel like you are really destroying the environments and riding in a powerful vehicle.

The speaker on the Wii Remote can be irritating at times, with it's low quality. Some sound effects seem out of place when played on the small speaker. I would probably recommend turning it off.

LASTING APPEAL

With so much to unlock, lifetime achievements, and multi player, this game gives you plenty to do, and you will want to keep coming back for more.

CLOSING COMMENTS

This game is not one to be missed. If you plan on buying a Wii, this is one game you should make sure to pick up. If you are a fan of hardcore arcade racers, this is a game for you.
