Trauma Center: Second Opinion
-Trauma Center: Second Opinion, is essentially a port of its Nintendo DS Brother, Trauma Center: Under The Knife. It features only very slightly upgraded graphics from the DS version, but the real difference it content, with several new missions and a new much more accessible way to move and choose your tools.
-The Story begins with a rookie doctor named Derek. He is a very young doctor, only 23, if memory serves me. He find work at his hospital. After working on his first few patients, he discovers that he has a power, called Healing Touch. It lets him see things as if he is going in slow motion and allows him to work extra fast. Around the same time, he has a patient that has a super deadly virus called GUILT. It is believed that GUILT is spread by terrorists. As you can imagine, you go through the game trying to get rid all the GUILT in the world.
-Trauma Center's gameplay is very fun and original. You go around operating on people with a nice big arsenal of tools. Controlling Trauma Center is as simple as possible. Choose your tool by moving the analog stick on the Nunchuk, the indentations on the Nunchuk make changing about as easy, fast, and as comfortable as possible. Actually operating couldn't be anymore easy or comfortable either. Using the Wiimote to point and use tools is a blast. The number of types of operations you can do is amazing. This game hardly gets repetitive. One thing about this game is that, some of the levels are really hard. Seriously, with some of these missions, if you can beat them with the highest rank possible, NOTHING will EVER be hard for you. Luckily, if things get too hard, there is the Healing touch power you can use, allowing you to slow down time for a short period of time. But even that hardly helps when trying to defeat a few of these missions.
-Graphics aren't all that realistic. The graphic styling gets an A++ though. It all looks very nice and clean (Despite the fact you are cutting up Humans). Nothing really looks blocky, it all just feels really clean. The menu's are the same way. Clean and futuristic. The Story telling is done in entirely in an anime style. Nothing really looks impressive about it, I'm not really into the anime scene. Sound is just okay. The nurses voice overs that come up during the missions are annoying and unnecessary since she just usually says things like "You're doing good doctor." And she tells you real information about the patient in textboxes. Operation sounds don't really sound realistic either. They're also just kind of annoying. The background music is okay, and keeps you on your toes.
-Playtime is great. There are quite a few missions that have good playtime and value. Replayability is almost infinite. On every level you can try to aim for the highest rank, and if you ever reach that, you can try to aim for a perfect score. This game will last you quite a while
-My Final Word is that Trauma Center: Second Opinion, has an interesting story about a rookie doctor, even if the story is presented in anime style. The gameplay is comfortable and fun. Graphics are nice and clean. Sound effects are just okay, while the background music is pretty good. It has a nice play time, and there are enough ranks and missions to keep you playing for a long time. Difficulty is tear you hair out hard, if you want to attempt to get perfect ranks on the hard missions, good luck with that.
Final Score- 8
Rent. Buy if you liked it afterwards.
