"Swinging and hitting, sometimes missing"

So here's my lowdown on this particular title, and this will be my very first review, so bare with me, please.

Graphics: 8.5

They get the job done, but not what I would call spectacular, though the environments are lush and detailed very well. The greens look green, the rough looks rough, and the water looks like water. It's the character models that don't shine here. Basically, they seem plastered onto a figure rather than having some sort of rustic feel. The mouths aren't even animated to their face, so you'll see the mouths move, but

Sound: 9

The music feels a little like lounge music, but it works with this game. After all, it's usually quiet in real life, but the music does help ease up early in your shots. The suspense music that plays when you're near the hole provides a little tension that you can actually feel. It's strange, but I've missed many a putts due to nervousness of missing. Still, does a great job creating an atmosphere, in my opinion.

Game play: 8.5

Ok, this is, by far, the best way to use the Wii Remote. It's very sensitive, but quite easy to use. It feels like you're actually swinging an actual club. However, some problems persist, such as the fact that you could have sworn you got a PangYa shot, but it doesn't register, even if the hit indicator shows that you hit the ball dead-on. Haven't tried button mode, since I find the normal swing mode much more intuitive and fun. The items you can buy for your character are nice, especially for Hana, the female character with the yellow bathing suit set. One thing that I have to knock at is the lack of separate save files and lack of characters from the get-go. You have to pick one and buy the other, so you either start off with the male or female and buy everyone else.

Difficulty: 10

This is, by far, one hard game to beat. I'm having problems beating PangYa Fest.
The difficulty in getting to the holes is there, but it's well worth the efforts. Also, buying stuff requires points, which are hard to accumulate as well. On occasion the AI, even in the later stages, will hit the ball Out of Bounds (O.B), giving you a good opportunity to capitalize on there.

Overall: 9

I feel this is a great addition to the Wii library, but the only problem is that the lack of save files for all is a let-down. Otherwise this would be a perfect example of how much fun you can have with your Wii and your Wii remote. Just don't expect to have separate personal bests saved, though I think the SD cards might take care of that, but since I don't have one yet, I don't know.
