Call of Duty 3
Review by Tman106
"Duty is calling for you"
yes I know bad pun in the title but none the less let's get on with the review.
Call of duty 3 for the wii is a great game and one of the only first person shooters currently on the wii. As being a new console most games don't take off immediately as the console is unexplored and games trying to be creative with it end up sucking, but this game is different.
Story: 7/10

Story: 7/10
The story is fairly average. You're a new recruit into a squad getting ready to invade Normandy. But there are some pretty funny lines in there so the slight comic relief saved it from a 6. The story is fairly short though only 14 chapters but a chapter takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete
Graphics 8/10
True that they are nothing compared to Xbox's or playstations but you can tell it is a next gen console. In some of the cut scenes it has graphics with textures that rival the 360's power, but only in cut scenes. In game play it looks about a bit better than an original Xbox game
Game play 9/10
This is where the game shines. The use of the wii remote is amazing. Granted there is a BIG learning curve but overall the game performs astoundingly. The controls allow you to turn on a dime and shoot enemies's like no ones business. The only flaw would be in certain instances where a enemy knocks your gun out of your hand and you have to pump both controllers until you weaken the enemy enough then you slide the controllers at him killing him. The problem with these is that they require massive pumping and can be very tiring. And sometimes when you slide the controllers at them it doesn't respond well making you have to start from the beginning. If you do really badly he will hit and kill you, yes kill you. These events are scripted to so if you have trouble with them you will have to learn to deal with it. Most events are scripted in call of duty 3 but the ai isn't bad so each fire fight is a little bit different. The only thing that held this back from a 10 was those pumping sequences
Replayability 3/10
Pretty much everything is scripted so after you've played each level about 4 times you will know exactly what will happen to you. Killing its replay value
Sound 7/10
The sound is ho hum. Average gunshots average explosions etc. etc. the only thing that saved this from a 6 was its voice acting which is pulled off very well especially in cut scenes
Multiplayer 0/10
There is no multiplayer. 'Nuff said
Overall 8/10
Call of duty is a great first person shooter for the wii. if your looking for a good shooter and don't want to wait for metroid prime 3 this is worth picking up although be warned if you blaze through the story quickly there is not much left to do
