"Same exact game.. New Console."

Yes you all know. This started the Legend of Zelda Series. Amazingly, the series is still alive today. Intuitive game-play. original soundtrack and story give this game franchise an amazing start.

Lets get right down to it shall we?

Story 5/10
Yes, thats right. 5. WHAT? Yup, 5. If you lack knowledge of the game, and don't have the original instruction manual, you are totally in the dark about what is going on, where you are, who you are, why you are fighting, what you are fighting. Lack of text in the game has always been an issue with me. But most gamers know the story, and even when you do it is a little dry. Because there is no character development at all. Just there is an evil guy with something called a tri-force. Original story, and basis of (most) all Legend of Zelda games, gives this somewhat of a break. But still, lack of knowledge of what is actually going on is a bit disappointing.

Gameplay 9/10
Here i-s where this game wins my heart. The game-play. So fast paced, in your face, and full of action. For it's time anyway. In no way is it perfect, and it can get extremely frustrating, and a bit dull, but all in all it is fantastic. The use of your sword and different items to kill a huge number of different enemies with different weaknesses, is amazing. Bombs, arrows, flute, boomerang, and magical rods are just the beginning!

Graphics 7/10
What do you expect? It's an old NES game! Oh but if you play it on the Wii, it makes it as though you are playing the game for the very first time. The Wii makes it sharper, clearer, and above all, pretty damn good. The graphics as of todays standards are horrible, but if you take into account it is 20 years old, you will be more forgiving.

Sound 7/10
Original Soundtrack. One of the staples of the Zelda series. This tune goes on, and on, and on. Over world theme has been used in pretty much every Zelda game to follow. Amazing for it's time. Think of a game that actually had *music* that they used over and over again, but started it 20 years ago? It's amazing it just wasn't a bunch of beeps and weird noises like in the video games of it's time.

Control 10/10
Wii. This game is fun. (Ok sorry for the bad joke). This game on the Wii can be played with Classic Controller, Wii Remote or GCN Controller. They all work fantastic. My personal favorite is the Wii Remote. Wireless, and the direction pad seems to be the best out of all 3. As for the actual controls in the game, I like them because they are simple. Up, down, left, right, a, b, start, select. Simple and extremely straight forward.

Replay Value 10/10
Once you find all of the secrets in the first game, there is a second, (and extremely more hard) quest to beat. Everything is mixed up, bosses, item and dungeon locations, ect. Also, if you want to skip the first quest, name your self "ZELDA" at the title screen. You will be started in the second quest automatically.

Play Time 8/10
I really like this games playtime. It is crazy. Back when it was released there was no internet. No FAQ's/Walkthrough's. Nothing to help you at all. And if you honestly do not use any help what so ever, and complete the game with every secret, you probably have spent over a couple of months on it. It's that big, and expansive. Random bombings of walls everywhere and burning of bushes... Takes forever.

Overall 8/10
Overall this game started many things that I love today. Mainly Zelda, but other games have been inspired as well. This game is pretty much revolutionary and now is available for the Wii. How amazing is that? Get past the dry story and man do you have an adventure on your hands. An extremely time consuming one at that.
