Call of Duty 3
Review by metralo
"Wait for Medal of Honor."
Ok, I'll try to write what I know on this one. This is my first time playing a Call of Duty game, so I can't say that this will be a good review coming from the other games. No intro here, let us get straight to the point
The graphics couldn't be worse. I've seen this being played on the PS2, 360, PS3, and all of that. 360 and PS3 look alike, while the PS2 and the Wii look alike. It bothers me the developers now a days just like to port stuff. You know, if a game is good, you might sell more. Anyways, the characters look bland, environments look bland, and so do the weapons. What's sad it that this game actually has 360 quality graphics during the cut scenes, so they proved they could do a better job.
The controls are sloppy as well. Just like Red Steel, point at where you want to shoot on the screen, and fire the gun, pressing the B trigger. You can also hold A to zoom in with whatever gun you're using, nice touch. The down button on the control pad beats down the enemy with the butt of your gun. The left button thing throws a grenade. The right button thing throws a smoke grenade. The up button thing switches between the two weapons you can hold. The button reloads, and + is the pause button. Everything isn't smooth, and seems too late. There's also things where you get in a struggle with an enemy and you have to fight them off. Sometimes it doesn't work, sometimes it does. I honestly think the game rolls dice to see if it wants to work or not. There are other sequences like that too, and they rarely work. Expect to thrust your hand about 20 times. Sorry if I didn't explain that well.
World War II. Nuff said on the story. Or do you want me to explain that too?
Game play is just like any other shooter. Run, shoot, run, shoot, duck, run, shoot, go get cover, run, duck, shoot, etc. The only thing missing is an online mode. This game would have gotten a much higher rating if it had one. Or maybe at least a multi-player mode. Hopefully the next Call of Duty game will be out by the time Wii has online.
Sound is actually good. Everything sounds like the gun, beat downs sound good, and blowing up stuff sounds good. (and looks good too.)
With all that being said... there's no other thing I can honestly say about this game. Again, I think it would have been much better if it had some sort of multi-player, so you can play with your friends. Oh well. I guess you get what you get.
Graphics 6/10

Sound 7/10
