The Godfather: Blackhand Edition

Review by hoodboy_tails

"An offer you can not refuse."

Intro
the Godfather is a movie based game that is actually pretty good. It seems to have elements from all 3 movies packed into the game and executes the style and story of the movies very well. The game takes place in New York. There are many types of missions ranging from Hits to "favors".

Story: 9/10
The game begins with your father getting shot in an alley and Your character can do nothing except sit there and watch. Don Vito tells you that one day you will take your revenge, and to hold in your anger until then. So then 9 years later he sends one of his men to check up on you. From that point on you work your way into the family. It has many characters from the movie and follows the movies theme very well.

Game play: 10/10
While it may be a First generation title. EA did a very good job of implanting The wii remotes controls into the game. When fighting you actually punch with the remote and the nunchuck. when you want to throw someones you can toss them to the front, or to the side, simply by flicking the remote in a particular direction. Shooting is done by aiming on screen. There are few if any flaws with the controls. Good job EA. and the RPG element for your character is very well implanted too. You can upgrade many different attributes such as fighting, health, weapon carrying capacity, etc.

Graphics: 6/10
While it does look better than it's original Xbox and Ps2 counterparts. It still looks only mediocre. There are tons of Jaggies on environments and such and the game has a terrible draw distance problem. Facial details looks pretty good and Characters animate fluidly but the graphics overall are nothing to special.

Replay value: 9/10
When you finish the main story there will still be a ton to do. You can go off exorting more businesses, Doing some contract hits, Helping the family out by doing people "Favors", or something big like conquering another families hideout and taking them down. The game can literally last you up to 50 hours if your going for 100%.

Buy or rent: BUY!!
the game is worth your money, has excellent replay value and is a very fun single player experience.

Final score: 9/10
The game is one of the Wii's best titles and is worth a buy. You won't regret it. It is an offer you can not refuse.
