Spider-Man 3

"Unless your a hardcore spider fan, DO NOT buy it, a good rental though"
Alright. my first impression of this game was that it was awesome, then I played it, and it was cool to play. and an hour later, it still is, but I know it isn't going to last too long.
First is gameplay. First, I'll sum it up, good gameplay, good controls, some of the gimmicky parts about this game (motion controls) gets old fast though. And some parts are just clunky.
The first impression is awesome, and it is. The most noticeable feature is webslinging. There is something about webslinging that just makes it fun, but the camera while doing it makes it hard to get exactly where you want to go sometimes. Also, climbing on walls is just awkward. Spiderman turns wierd and goes too slow, and when you go to webzip on them, sometimes you get no where near where you want to. Now battles, I don't know about other people, but I find battles to be awkward. Swinging the remote works with swords, but with Spiderman, it doesn't seem to work, the main thing about it is that you have to get the timing down, which isn't hard; you have to listen to your remote speaker for when the punches, kicks, etc. hit before you swing again, which is ok, but the sounds get annoying real fast. In the trailer, you saw (if you did see it) the Web Rodeo as it is called in the game (where you swing the remote around) which seems cool, but for me, it doesn't work real well at all. And besides the rodeo, there are few other moves that you actually pull off yourself, I can only think of one off the top of my head. Finally, Black Spiderman, well it is actually good, especially in the beginning. You get more health, stronger attacks, and more moves, well mroe moves in the beginning anyway; Black Spiderman can't use the Hero Unlocks, which is my only rant about it.
Storyline (missions), nothing too bad about them. Some follow the movie, some are just extra side missions;and it's cool that the Wii version gets it's own unique two storylines, but from what I hear, while the Wii version have five "storylines", the 360/PS3 versions have ten(along with their own unique ones also).
Graphics/sound. This is where the game hurts. I know it is the Wii, but I still can't understand where the developers gets the ideas that these graphics work. Heres what I mean, watch the first cutscene with Peter himself, and you will notice that the people just look weird. The camera also hurts you at times, plus to turning the camera just doesn't work, you just have to center it behind you constantly. I don't really care about graphics (no Wii owner really can) but there are still problems. Sound, the narrator (Bruce Cambell) is nice ,funny, whitty, but the other voice acting, is horrible. I'm sick of hearing the same 4 or 5 lines from Toby (not to mention the acting is horrible).
Overall. All of the above makes the game decent, it will not blow you away, but it is a good game to try out. The one thing that I think makes this game hurt horribly is the length, I thought this game was awesome when I started, and then went I went to progress and saw that I have completed 20% of the game in 48 minutes, it really killed it for me.
Good rental, but really, you shouldn't buy it.
