Review by BlooditeDrakan

"The first WW2 shooter of the Wii. And it's simply "Jawesome"."

The second FPS I played for the Wii, the first WW2 shooter I played for the Wii, and also the first COD I've played, thus far. And whenever I look back on it, I always remember how entertaining it was. Read on.

Story. Nothing new, I can't remember what campaign it was (not that there's much of a story element in WW2 shooters anyway). But often there was some little sub-story in between missions, such as the sergeant no-one liked, or the English having emotional conflicts with the French resistance while conversing. So there were definitely some entertaining cut-scenes – and that's good enough for a story in my book!
Story? 7/10

Graphics. It's first-gen, true, but it held up pretty well. The atmosphere is your usual WW2 bombed or destroyed places (surprise!), but as long as it's made to look good, it's got good atmosphere. Texturing was alright, but some bits like a star on a tank or the MP40 were simply rugged and looked not awful, but still had room for improvement. Soldiers and people's models looked good, as did their skins, so I have no complaints. It might not be super good quality, but its first-gen and on the Wii after all!
Graphics? 8/10

Sound. There's nothing out of the ordinary here. Orchestral music to accompany a battle, gunshots and screams sound good, and the voice acting is good too. There's not much else to expect, so let's get straight into the best part of the best version.
Sound? 9/10

Gameplay. There's so much to do! Sure like any other FPS you run and fire at things so let's get to that first. Nun-chuck's used to flick to do actions like reloading, while the remote is pointed at the screen, guiding the crosshair the gun follows to aim carefully at the enemy and to turn. Sniping on a console being fun is now TRULY possible thanks to this, and sitting at the back of a group of soldiers and popping Nazis was tremendously fun. So what else do you get to do? Let's see, you can drive tanks and cars, pop mortar rounds, fight off a German that ambushes you (great exercise too!!), row a boat, set off charges (and twist the remote to put in the screw!!!), it just goes on and on! And they all make PLENTY of use of the controls. It never got old. On top of all that, in certain situations you can choose how to take on the Nazis. Go straight for them, or ambush them from the side? That's up to you!

The only thing with the controls – and it's possible that I simply bought a bad copy – is that at certain sections of the game, my controls went crazy. It'd aim itself straight up, and it became more of a battle to get out of the hotspot to resume gaming again. And it always did it in the same spot. But like I said, it was probably just me.

Gameplay? 10/10

Final Verdict – Nothing I'll go back to for a while, but it's an amazing blend of awesome Gameplay and a showcase of what the Wii controls are capable of. First prize!
