"Worst Wii game so far"

Gt Pro Series is the second game for the Wii that comes with a little wheel add on. I rented the game so I have no clue how that works. Anyway, I had no idea what this game was about, just that it was only on the Wii and this generation I'm trying to play all exclusives. So I can make a fair judgment at the end of what console to focus on in the next generation in 5 years. Anyway, that isn't important. What is important is, is GT Pro Series worth buying? Read on!

This game has to be one of the ugliest games I have ever seen since the PS1 era and to make it worse; this is a next gen game. It's just not acceptable. The tracks are very blurry. One was at night in a forest and I swear to whatever that it was just a green wall on both sides. That's bad. What's worse is the vehicles are cell shaded but they look very wrong. Most cars look like vans because they are boxed in.

The sound in the game was annoying for me. The music is super cute pop. Sounded very Japanese and while I personally have no problem with J-pop or anything like it (I actually own a few J-pop cds). However, this is super candy sweet J-pop sounding and it doesn't even have vocals but the instruments are so... Sound effects are... Actually I don't even remember if the cars made sounds and I just played the game.

Oddly enough I must say I was confused by the controls for a second but then it clicked for me. I was holding the Wiimote flat instead of upright. Anyway, 2 is gas, 1 is brake. You get the idea. Tilt left and right to turn. Very easy and it's responsive. Then I played with a "Midget car" as the game calls them (which I found to be a bit offensive but oh well) and those vehicles just power slide whenever they want and it's always at the end of a turn which really isn't helpful by that time.

The game is almost like Gran Turismo. It has classes and you need specific licenses to advance. I don't remember doing any tests like in Gran Turismo though.

The classes consist of about 4 races each. The track design is very curvy, very unrealistic and rather annoying with zig zag sharp turns that tumble into each other. Instead of going for a normal track design they went with over the top. It really doesn't work because it makes the game feel slower.

The car types look horrible but they do control differently. Which if you read the control section of this review then you'll know it isn't a good thing.

The AI itself is rather lame. I found that the top 6 or so cars kind of meld themselves into a giant mess of magnet cars or something. They actually get stuck together and then you just pass and then complain about how easy it is.

This is one of the easiest racing games I've played. It does have a fair amount of classes and stuff so it will last at least through an entire rental. It also offers multiplayer but I didn't have access to any of that.

I would recommend passing on this game as if your life depended on it. It is by far the worst game on the Wii. It has awkward controls at times, terrible track designs, very bad graphics and the list just goes on. As I said in my 4x4 review that these two games come with the wheel. I say go with that 4x4 game would be a better buy than this. Neither is worth buying though.
