"An addicting game, messed up by fairly clunky controls and extreme difficulty"

I had never heard of the computer game "Albatross18." I loved golf games, especially Hot Shots Golf, so when I heard that a port of the computer game "Albatross18" was coming to the Wii, I was greatly excited. I instantly wanted it, and I was hoping for the experience of a lifetime. I got what I wanted, with a few gimmicks.

Storywise, the game follows the characters playing golf through what they call a "Pangya Festa!" You start with two basic characters, Scout and Hana, and eventually unlock eight different characters. The story mode takes you through their adventures through the Pangya Festa! and how they eventually win. The first characters you have don't really have much of a story, but when you unlock the last two characters, there is an actual bit of a story that develops. Not particularly interesting, but compelling enough.

Story- 7/10

The graphics in Super Swing Golf are amazing. We're set in a fantasy world, yes, but the beach themed places have a great feel to them. Great, bright setting. Character models can be a bit plain, but overall, everything is great to look at. Some of the best graphics on the Wii.

Graphics- 8.5/10

The sound, while a bit repetitive, are abosolutely addicting. The swing of your golf club, the cute shouting of "PangYa!" (Korean for "Bang!" the sound a golf ball makes when hit), and that BGM. Oh my, the BGM is just AMAZING. I found myself humming the BGM, and occasionally, dancing to it, it was so awesome. Some of the BEST sound on the Wii. Only thing that brings it down is the lack of voice acting, but Albatross18 doesn't have that either, so without it, it's great enough.

Sound- 9.5/10

The gameplay...is very fun and addicting. The swing, I think, is very fluid and works very well and realistically. Some might disagree, but I think it works extremely well. Really, if you love golf games, this game is great for replicating real swings, but the parts that bring it down are the immense lag and the slow pace of the game. The difficulty can get almost out of hand. I wanted to throw the Wiimote so many times. If you can get past those (like I did) you will find the gameplay perfect.

Gameplay- 6.5/10

Replay value is IMMENSE. Eight different Pangya Festa's to go through, and there are actually some other Pangya Festa's to do, other than the main ones. There are also some other one player modes, like tournament and match play. Multiplayer adds to the fun, and there are a VAST amount of unlockables in this game. I've spent about 80 hours on this game, and I haven't gotten every single thing yet. Replay value of an RPG.

Replay Value- 9.5/10

Overall, this game is fun, but it has it's problems. The lag, the difficulty, and the slow pace of each game can occasionally kill the fun, but if you can get past the things like that, Super Swing Golf is the golf game everyone has needed.

Average- 8.2/10
Overall- 8/10
