Spider-Man 3
Review by Darkrai64
"Could've been better"
This game could've been SO much better if the Wii version was just like the PS3 and X360 version of Spider Man 3.The makers of this game were in a rush of making this game and only concentrated on the web-swinging interaction.
Graphics 6/10-Not bad, but not great either. If you stand far away from a building and look at it, it looks blurry. But when you're not swinging around, just hanging around on the streets, the graphics are fine. At least they made it 3-D and not 2-D, if you know what I mean. Anyway, they could have done a little more work on graphics. It seems Spider Man 2 even had better graphics. Possibly, Spider Man 1 to.
Gameplay 8/10- At times, it's pretty flashy. But at other times, it's nothing but OK. The swinging is VERY frustrating a first, but it'll be a synch when you get used to it. The combat style could've also been better. You just swinging the Wii Remote and press the A button for a combo. There is only one combo you can do. They really should've given more choices of combos.
Story 7/10-They said there are five storylines. There were right, but there are only 1-3 missions in each storyline, and it all seems like one big storyline. The story is very easy to beat. You can beat it in 5 hours! So in other words, it's short, and should've been lengthier.
Missions 6/10-Spider-Man! Can you deliver this pack of fruit pies? That's one of the city alert missions that you do. The other city alert missions that you do is like, saving people from laughing gas, bringing people to the hospital, escorting people, and others. There is also gang missions where you have to defeat gangs and stop them from what ever their doing. The gangs are, H-Bombers, Apocalypse (may be spelled wrong),Dragon Tails (not the show), and the Waste Tribe. If you defeat a gang, and if they have no more city control, you get 3 hero points. If you defeat every gang, and the police have 100% city control, you get 5-10 hero points. Story missions are okay, but sometimes, you have to do some gang missions to continue on with the story.
Sound 7/10-Not the best thing about the game, but not the worst either. The sound can be quiet, but can also be very loud. They have a couple of different level music. But when people talk, they don't sound very excited, actually, kind of bored.
Animation 8/10-When you're fighting and swinging around town, the animation is perfect. But the reason why I gave animation 8 out of 10 is because, sometimes when your on the ground just walking around, the people walking have bad animation and they look like they're walking like robots! The cars, fortunately, still have perfect animation. Sometimes, the villains look like they're walking like robots.
Now this is what I have to say. The game seems really fun at first, but when you're done with the story, and get 100% complete on your file, you'll probably get bored. By the way, if you want to go in the sewers and in the subways, you can not go to those places on the Wii version of Spider Man 3. Oh yeah, if you've heard that if you collect 100 meteorite pieces, you can unlock Venom and play as him, they're lying. What you do get is a congratulations sign! Spending all those hours just for this. ---- you whoever made this for the Wii. Another thing, there are so many glitches in this game, and most of them are bad, it's not even funny. Here's one for you. If you're doing a gang mission, there is a slight chance that in the middle of it, you'll, out of no where, fail the mission. Whoever made this game for the Wii thought that this was a good thing.
So in other words, if you have a X360 or PS3, get Spider Man 3 for that system. Hopefully, the next Spider Man game will be better.
