Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
Review by 1stleprechaun
"fun and challenging game"
Hey, I bought resident evil umbrella chronicles and thought it would just be a pick up and play game that would last me maybe 10 hours... I was wrong. playing the game on normal setting can be extremely difficult by yourself. you can easily die 3 or 4 times before completing the mission, I have played for at least 15 hours and still am not bored. The shooting is intuitive, there is a variety of enemies,it will last a long time, but there are some minor flaws too.
The best part of the game is how great the shooting is. You can line up your shots to hit a zombie in the leg to knock him over, or you can line it up perfectly in the head to blow his or her head clean off. The wiimote provides excellent shooting making this an awesome on rails game.
Some people say that all of the enemies in this game are the same making it too easy. I would have to disagree with that person. Sometimes you will see a zombie sprint at you very fast and then you switch to the shotgun as fast as you can to blow it back or get hurt. Other enemies include leeches that will horde together to make a human shaped thing that can only be kept back with a machine gun or grenades. The most frightening thing though is when the game backs you into a corner where you have to fight off twelve zombies at a time without letting your health bar drop to zero. Seeing a new type of enemy is always startling when every bit of health counts.
One reason I picked this game up was for the replayability. If you rush through the story once without looking for extras this game could still last you for 12 or 15 hours. Now, if you try to beat this game on hard and get all of the files this game could last for 25+ hours. This game can last for a long time and even after you beat it will be fun to pick up and play with a friend.
This game is not without flaws though. One flaw is that your ammo can drop to zero on a gun and you still have to cycle through it to get to the gun you need to kill a certain enemy. Another is that sometimes when you try to reload or do a dodge sequence the game does not respond. Overall though the game is very enjoyable.
This game has intuitive controls, a variety of enemies, but is not without it's flaws. I would reccomend this game to anybody who wants to play with a friend or is looking for a challenge and a lot of replayability.
