"Horrible Rip Off of Sing Star"

Let's take a fun singing game like Sing Star and mix it with the horrible movie, High School Musical. It's really not good at all. The game itself is just horrible. No replayability, and it isn't challenging at ALL. The scoring system is simple, and just bad. I got an A by humming. The graphics make me want to bark. They belong on a early Gamecube or late Dreamcast.

The music is as you know subpar. Straight from the two movies. If it wasn't for the fact that the game is a good laugh at people playing I would have given this a lower score. They dance while you sing and the movements are not human-like and atrocious to watch. The programming is horrible as you can give a guy a girl voice by setting up the Quick Play the right way.

The game isn't fun and to make it more tedious they put in unlockables. The only things to ulock are some characters and clothes for those ugly lumps of pixels to wear. There are so many things to unlock and you have to do the exact thing over and over to unlock them. You would probably get bored and sell the game before unlocking everything.

Next, the characters. How in the world did two minor characters and characters we didn't know could sing be singers? It is just a stupid gimmick to making the game seem like it has more variety. Even if it did help the game had very little variety in the first place and this wouldn't have saved it.

Finally to top it all off they did the dumbest gimmick to the game. If you shake the Wiimote or the Nunchuk if it's attached it will make what the game calls percussion noises. Now these noises are dumb, do nothing, and sound absolutely NOTHING like anything percussion. What could have been the games only saving grace, instead, became it's executioner.

The modes are easy to understand at least. Story mode, which can be finished in about twenty minutes. Quick Play, for singing a song right quick. And finally, Party Mode. This is for mutiple people to play. The game uses a microphone which actually picks up your voice pretty well. They plug using the USB connectors in the back. Overall, this game is bad, and you should just avoid it. Unless you are a hardcore High School Musical fan, in which you should buy the game, rent it. In fact don't rent it. Slap the manager for even having it in stock.
